If putting a decent stereo in your car and listening to the type of music you like is being a ricer then so be it. It still smells drives and sounds like a datto and its just personal like the colour and the mags and the engine upgrade choice
each to his own

Mate ive got two fat 10" subs in a custom parcel tray in my 1000 sedan with quality alpine 6 1/2" splits in the front with some tweeters in the back corners for filler attatched to a pioneer head unit(soon to be upgraded to an alpine mp3 deck) all running off 2 alpine amps mounted in the boot.
I would recommend this set up if you want to get serious, as its hard to fault in a small car like a datto.
15inch subs limit the type of music you can play, 10's can be calibrated to suit if you have a good deck and decent subs but 15's cant keep up with a fast beat... period,
and you will get the best sound quality by running round shaped speakers, 6x9's are for people who dont care overly and are not prepared to shell out for amps.
thats my take.

it dont go real fast but it sounds good

just the quick and easy way, not the best way, that was my point, as an indication and nothing more, i agree with you for a solution tho.

Or more simply, but more generally. Get a mate with a car that is correct, and follow him on the highway / freeway and call him on his mobile and get him to do set speeds 60 70 80 etc and see the difference between what his is reading and yours.
Note: the car you follow needs to be standard so it might be better following your mum
