Hey guys, im trying to see if there is anyone around that has a choke cable that i would be able to grab off them this week coming, i have just finished setting my ute up with my twins and there is a fair chance that i will need to set it up with a choke cable.

It is going in for a tune on wednesday i hope and if it comes to it i will set up the cable after it is tuned as you can start it with out one just need some one in the engine bay of course. Also been told there is a chance i wont need one either so im not sure just trying to suss it out basically

So please help out if you can or even give me a heads up as to a store i can buy one from even

Steve

What you have put up in the picture is a safty end for emergency power cut offs in race cars, im sure if you had a look around at the likes of Meridian Motorsport and Revolution Race Gear or something like that near your place im sure you would be able to find something

We used them on the formula fords as throttle cable ends as well as the cable stops for the power switches

Just a few pics i have taken of how it looks so far, i still need to sort out the breather hoses as i couldnt sort any oil breather hose this wkend due to the bloody public holiday and also need to get filters when i get it to the carby shop for the tune and run in

Exhaust needs to be taken back off when i get time and have the welds cleaned up a bit and painted so it doesnt rust away before the car

ok so after looking at the wiring diagrams for the 1200 ute i have found that i was missing the Start wire running to the coil, it would seem that with the old engine it didnt matter and it would start when i turned the key from the start spot back to the on spot, now with a new engine, higher comp and all that jaz it needs it on both the on and start spot

I have jumpped a wire from the start terminal on the back of the igntion switch to the coil and away it goes, now it starts no problems

I just need to sort out the idle and then it is off to the carby shop to get the dellortos all tuned and matched up

Thank you to everyone for your help in pointing me in the right direction for what was going on

I must say i have always loved the sound of a side draft carby.....

I will stick up some pics of the exhaust system i made up for it as well when i get a chance as well as the final engine bay when it is all finished as well

i have been testing everything as ppl have been saying it, thats why i keep asking/coming back with comments, so LAMB i was thinking about doing that and in the end decided to give it a try and guess what it did start right away (all be it for a second as i turned it off as soon as it did so i could work out wtf is going on with my ignition switch)

I need to work out now as to why it isnt triggering the start wire but thnks for you help already ppl

Is there ment to be 5 wires plugged in to the back of the igtion switch its self as there are 5 pins but i have only got 4 wires on the back???
