hi all again, its been awhile but been doin alot of little things to the ute, been making a tub floor, just using 1mm zinc got a bloke at the moment pressing some beads in it to match the pattern in the tubs. also had some really good news, had a engineer come over yesterday to take a look, i first spoke to him on the phone and told him what i got and he said its doable, but when he came over he was surprised i did it the way it had to be legal so will get him to do it when needed. so good to know i can have my ute engineered and roadworthy and fully insured with no worries of cops, he told me to put some bracing in the rear chassis so heres a pic of that. im not a great welder but have a certIII in mechanical engineering means that my welds are ok for the engineer.

been awhile since ive done anything major to car but found some time to cut the front out to fit the intercooler and radiator, got some ideas of scott at maddat with ways to make mount brakets etc, which was great help. been doing small things aswell like cleaning up some bits and pieces too, so painfully boring.

Hi wards, this stage it will be registered on the road and take to drags and get some good practicing in to hopefully do a 10 sec pass as I've always wanted. Then I'll just keep driving it on the road and enjoy it, and still use it as my first intensions were and run greens to dump etc. After ed75mnd got me thinking I'll be adding some gussets and fish plate couple of sections just to be safe guess the chassis can never be too strong, as the missus put her foot down and said this is my last car I do so will make sure it lasts

Good ideas ed74mnd will deffiately look into it, I fully understand what your talking about, where your talking about putting a gusset at the vertical, it's actually has on the front side cos I was going
to run the 4 link bracket on the back side of that vertical but changed it. I have a mate up here who builds rods as well so will double check with him again with my work. Thanks for your concern.

rsr100 yea ive been watching your build aswell and was sure it was your other 1200 ute you had for sale once before that i thought might aswell buy that instead of starting on mine. after i started on the clip i actually thought i should of just unpicked the original rear chassis at the back of cab and at rear and just cut 200 or so out of the channels that joined the rails to move rails in and put some decent tyres under keeping the leafs and use caltracs. with the engineering side of things i guess in qld here somethings just get missed haha

Far out idatto there are some mad wheels you put up there but I figure the 275 I have on the back will be plentiful for a street car this small.
