Well we havnt officially got a weight, but its less than 2.5kg's. Put it this way Steve... you can put the tip of your pinkie finger into the bonnet latch, lift the bonnet up and it doesnt bend your finger down hehe

Should i also say that there is also a range of other 1200 parts coming as well as a complete range for 1600's as well

Hi everyone... heaps of people have been asking me about these bonnets. Firstly i just have to say sorry to a lot of you for not getting back to you after so long but i have just been so busy with business of late i really havnt had time for much else.

Well, here it is... its been a long time coming and there is still a few little things that the guys making them want to improve on. Having seen it i can tell you now that they look freaking hot!!!

These are not carbon fibre over fibreglass... these are the real macoy vacum infused "Kevlar" carbon fibre 1200GX Bonnets.

There 100% is a "widebody" version of the coupe. Boz has had one sitting in his Dad's shed for the last 10 years sitting there gathering dust hehe.

There has been a few delays guys sorry. I have seen a 1200 "GX" Kevlar Carbon bonnet and it looks awsome!

Given other business commitements and to make sure that poeple get looked after properly, we have decided given that i have been hammered with people wanting to buy this stuff, that the range of these Kevlar Carbon Fibre conponents for Datsuns will be sold through Maddat. With the guys who make it just wanting to make it and me having other business commitements I think it would be better having a professional firm who already has a presence in the Datto scene. Scott and Tam at Maddat are very much the professional type with the ability to service the needs for people wanting these products.

The guys who are making them are just getting a few more made and making sure that all is well with the manufacturing process before they let them into the market. They have original mounting for bonnet hinges, original mounting for bonnet latch. The havnt weighed them as yet but they estimate it to be around 1.1kg's in total weight.

It is infact a substancial investment even in the mould itself and they are pretty keen on developing a range of quality Datsun gear over the coming months.

Yes the rear firewall panel is going to totally seperate the main cabin from where the fuel tank and surge tank and pumps etc are located. I will get pics up for that when its done but that is a while away at the moment.

The Kevlar Carbon Fibre dash is still a few weeks away as well as a few other goodies.

There is also going to be a range for 1600's as well.

I am sure that Maddat will have the prices and everything up in the coming weeks... stay tuned.

They arnt an overlay on top of fibreglass... they will be full carbon fibre with a kevlar weave.

the guys have estimated that they will maybe a quarter of the original bonnet weight.

The bonnets will have provisions for bonnet hinge mounts with aluminum blocks placed inside the mould that are already pre-drilled.

Even the carbon fibre dash that we are doing will have all the original mounting points pre drilled

As soon as the guy has them to make the moulds... he will give me the prices. Sorry for the delay guys but i think it will be worth it

Can now confirm that Bozzy is going to get me his GX Bonnet next week to set up a mould for carbon fibre.

For some god-forsaken reason i can not locate my original 1200 dash. Now i am looking for either my dash or someone else who has there dash out of there car to make a mould for carbon fibre for that as well.

I will have prices for dash and bonnet for everyone next week.

Harry the rear seperation panel is going to take a little bit longer mate becuase of the fabrication that he needs to do, as soon as i have it sorted i will have pics for you and let you know how much
