Howdy guys and girls... as some you guys already know i arrange a few track days with a bunch of other motorsport lovers.

We have a day coming up at Wakefield Park on March 15th and i would love nothing more than to get a few 1200's out there.

Harry is bring along his crazy little machine and Andrew will be there with his GTR.

Also... we have some of the best driver trainers on the day for no extra charge. We have John "Bozman" Boston out there with us as well as VIP Petfoods Racing & 2006 Aussie Racing Car champion Paul "Pablo" Kemal. These guys do this free of charge becuase like us, they want to show poeple how much fun motorsport can be at not a lot of cost.

If anyone is keen for more info... http://www.autosports.com.au/forum/sh ... ead.php?p=30563#post30563

Or you can give me a buzz on 0408255005

howdy all... curious to see if any of you guys have any pics of turbo manifolds for CA18DET into 1200's?

I have to consider the fact that i have to run a 26mm restrictor for Improved Production and there is a lot of benefit to be had into getting the restrictor set up properly, in saying that we can not really start that till we work out where the turbo is to be best mounted.

Look forward to your comments and hopefully pictures

What do you leave bolted to the car when you get it blasted?

Diff, rear suspension, front suspension, handbrake, steering column, brake circuits and cylinders?

Thinking about sandblasting a car soon and wondering what to strip and what to leave in...

The only reason i left the brake lines on was because the guy who is going to be bending up the new stainless lines wants to use the ones that are there as a template. They didnt impeed on the blasting in anyway and i they will be just cut out when the time is right.

Rear and front end suspension was left in simply make it easy to move the car around. Again, it doesnt create to much of a drama in regards to access anywhere. I dunno why i didnt take the handbrake out... i should of because the car will not have one when it is put back together for IP.

I seriously can not reccomend this new plastic bead blasting enough. Its amazing and the big difference is that it doesnt heat the metal up at all meaning that there is no damage to panels or body in anyway at all.

I looked around a fair bit and asked a lot of questions and i have to say that if you are in Sydney, the guys at Austec (ph 97552044) really do know there stuff. Yes it does cost a few dollars more than sandblasting but the difference is like chalk and cheese.

yeah sorry i should of been a little clearer. I have been told recently that there is big difference in regards to gearboxes. The CA18DET boxes are suppose to be a lot stronger.

If you will take $200 i am happy to come and pick it up. But i am flat out and unable to come and pick it up until Sat 30th July.

Send me a PM if you are keen and i will eft you a deposit

Good to hear from you peddler as you may have read earlier in the posts if the car has not sold by next week it will be rebiult back to its former glory and who knows i might invite you down from a drive when she is done.....

You wanna be careful offering that champs... i might take you up on that offer

I wouldnt be to worried, I am sure that everyone means well.

Yes Craig, i infact told John to make sure that you knew that there wasnt much happening within the NSW Under 2litre Sports Sedan scene. And although i didnt really want to sell the car, there wasnt much good keeping it if there wasnt going to be any racing for it in NSW. In saying that at the time the U2L SS scene in Victoria and South Australia was and still is pumping along.

Someone down south should grab this thing, it the right hands it is without a question one of the best cars in its class in the country.

I am infact in the middle of a build on another 1200 Coupe, this time i am building a 400hp CA18 Improved Production car. When i get some time, i will get some pics of the build so far... at the moment it is has a full cage welded in and getting the pedal box and seat/steering position sorted. its turning out like an absolute weapon that i hope will give Bozzy a run for his money in his new R32GTR Improved Production car.

I sold the car complete to Martin Rogers for $8,500 and he used it as a talking piece for when his mates came over for a beer haha. He never drove the thing!
From there I think he sold the car to stevo1000 and then I lost track of it.

HEHE... No, i never did because unless i wanted to race against $300k 700hp injected V8 purpose build tube chassis sports sedans monsters that could be described as bullets on wheels... AKA Barnes Pontiac as well as that boof head in the carbon fibre and chrome molly jag and his mates.

I bought the car when there was a lot of talk about the NSW arm of the under 2 litre sports sedan scene picking up. It ended up with most of the i think 5 cars that were running also getting sick of the lack of support from ASSA and never any opportunities other than getting in the way of the big boys.

I sold the car to Steve as Boz has said and i hadnt heard much about it since. Pity... would of loved to get out in that thing. The only time we did, we ended up blowing up the gearbox
