In regards to how it feels driving mine is a little different. While the kit is the same, it replaced a shifter which had already been shortend (cut & shut)when I bought the ute. So in terms of shortening the distance of the throw it is pretty similar to what I had..... However.... as the kit has a new plastic bush in it, the shift feels a lot more positive and not as sloppy. I guess it depends on what condition your bush is in as to feeling a difference. My thoughts are that if you have a standard shifter which has never had the bush replaced you will notice a significant improvement in positive shift and reducing the length of the throw.

I did this little conversion in my ute about 6 months ago.... Yes it would be easier to take the gearbox out but I managed to get it done with the gear box still in.

The trick to the tapping is 'do it slowly'. It was a bit of a pain and we had to jack the gearbox up from under the car to push the holes your trying to tap through the tunnel. Make sure your tap is square otherwise your going to end up screwing your bolt in in some silly angle.

I also ground off the top of the shifter mount to allow the new mount to slide over and sit down correctly... see my very poor diagram attached.

Hope that helps.

Hi folks.

About to make the trans-continental move from Darwin to Ballarat and wanted to hear some opinions on car clubs or even datto/nissan clubs in the area, what they are like and if they are worth becoming involved in. Any suggestions are helpful.

Cheers

Obviously the orignals are fixed back and I found them pretty good. With the race seat I took out the original and stuck in a Sparco fixed back and it sucked. Might have something to do with fact that im 6'2 but it just wasnt comfy. The 'wings' on the seat made getting in and out a pain in the ass and for longer cruises it simply wasnt comfy. Ended up taking it out, getting the original reupholstered and stuck it back in.

Just wondering if anyone has taken a good look at the FAST EZ-EFi conversion kits and if they will work for an A-series? Looks very straight forward compared to some of the mucking about other applications require. Not sure on price but I dont think they are cheap.
