remove the intake manifold and have a peak doen the intake of one.
Does the intake valve open when u hand crank the engine?? If it doesn't, take of the rocker cover and check the rocker arm to valve stem clearance.
If that is within specs, check that the push rod ??? is in one piece and has been installed correctly. its possibly to get these stuk when installing the head.

is it rebuilt or reconditioned?
From my understanding rebuilt means it was taken apart, checked, then reassembled. Mayne with a new set of rings and possibly bearings.

Reconditioned means it had the works done to it. New valve seals, new pistons, rings, bearings, maching work done etc.

The price also depends on warranty length.

If u got a reconditioned A15 with 1 year warranty for less than $700 u should have found yourself a bargain.

Why don'y u ring around and ask other shops they charge????

Okay heres some maths. and some assumptions.

case one: one turbo

asume (t25) turbine 53mm weight? : 500grams
maths : moment of inertia (simplified) = (mass x radius x radius)/2
= 0.5 x 0.053 x 0.053
= 0.0014045 kg/m
Case two: two turbos
asume (t15) turbine 42mm weight? 380grams???
= .38 x 0.042 x 0.042
= 0.00067032 kg/m

the two turbos WILL spool up quicker (in this case) but not by much.
the turbotech.com.au website has the moment of inertia for different turbos listed. I have not used their values as I don't
understand their figures, however, looking at their figures, two t15s (it looks like) have a total mass moment LESS than one T25 therefore it would seem (again) that two turbos would spool up quicker.

tried adjusting the clutch.
If your old clutch had stretched due to natural aging, you may have adjusted the clutch cable.
With the new clutch cable, when you press the cable. you may actually have full clutch disingagement BEFORE your foot reaches the floor. Once fully disingaged, (if you are pressing the clutch further) you are actually now trying to bend/strech something.

great reply dattodude!!!

Soft springs are better... I may be wrong but heres what I think.

Springs support the car, Shockies control the rate of movement of the suspension both in compression
and rebound. HArd springs reduce the amount of mechanical grip a car has (No good)

Imagine a car with solid conections (no springs) the car would follow every single bump. This is what increasing spring stiffness begins leading to.

In a datsun, fitting a rear sway bar will increase the amount of understeer!!! This is because the swaybar increases the grip level of the rear tyres.

datsuns have aluminium heads which means that the valve guides are hard enough..eg tehy will not wear out quickly due to the lack of lead.(the lead lubricated the valve guides) the only concern may be a drop in octane rating. In Australia, leaded and unleaded fuels (I may be wrong here) have the same octane rating and so here, unleaded fuel is just fine. Not sure about SA

Yes, This question has always intrigued? me. when thinking about heat being radiated outwards, what the f%@k does the outside surface colour have to do with it ?????
I think its' an old wifes tale..
It might be that a painted surface has more surface area (at a microscopic level) but surely, any covering acts as a thermal insulator??

knowledge is power
power is worth money ???? or somthin like that..

Why do uni graduates get paid heaps??? Because they have (apparently) knowledge.

It could be argued that paying $80 for a copy is a worth while investment, I mean, if one costly mistake is avoided....
