good luck mate - it took me months to find mine, and the previous owner to fall off the perch, for it to come on the market, and I had to have a deposit down the first day it was advertised...
Its worth the effort though.

I have KA Laser seats in mine, and they are a bolt in. (well, the hole centres are about >5mm out but its doable) and they are eleventy bazillion times more comfy than the originals, but the headrests touch the rear window, and they are almost twice as thick in the back than the original ones, so maybe not much chop if you are 6 feet.
When the time comes though, I will def be getting them recovered, as they suit my fat ass perfectly (I am only 5'10")

I have a 60 series dogleg that will be getting slotted in within a month or so (hopefully - its getting a socks-and-undies rebuild as we speak.) I will try and remeber to take some pics etc if I see anything that might help, although I think pretty much everything has been detailed in the wiki.

+1 for replacing the windscreen. I am in the process of getting rid of mine, due to 32 years of sandblasting. You dont go face first into the wind for 30+ years and not come out unscathed. Plus, the laminating technology has come a fair way since the screens were first put into the old girl, and lets be honest, if the very worst happens while you are driving a 1200, you need all the extra safety you can get.

Are the door handles the original ones or aftermarket jobbies?
I am keen if they are originals.

I recently bought a pair of struts for $150 from a member on here, and they came with near new wheel bearings, brake rotors and calipers (and some dodgy cut springs, however, I digress)
The guys at WA suspensions are great, but you have to keep in mind they have some pretty limited "brand specific" knowledge. They fixed the front end of my ute up nicely, but the old B310 ball joint and tie rod secret went straight through to the keeper until after I got it back :(
From personal experience, I would def look at bushes etc before looking to put your struts in a 10 tonne press and getting busy wit it.

Ute tailgate options |

So, I was reading an old car mag at a mates place last night, and it had a big spread on a yellow 1200 ute, with an off its lips S/C V8 in it. The engine combo etc was nice (not my personal cup of tea, but each to their own) but the thing that REALLY caught my eye, was the side opening tailgate on the ute tray.
As much as I love the clean simple shape of the 1200 ute, the stupid handles on the tailgate look like arse, and the novelty is starting to wear off having touse weld to build up the catch hooks every now and again.
So, my question is, has anyone here done it, and if so, how?
And if, like me, you havent, but want to, how would you go about it?
I remember my old mans XB wagon had a side opening tailgate. Anyone ever seen this type of hinge? Would it be adaptable to suit?
disscus...

Sounds like a slightly worn throwout bearing. When the clutch pedal is in, the bearing is loaded up and ergo will not rattle if its just "loose" (if its close to collapse it will make noises under load, not off load)
