Hi guys,

I need some help tuning my HS6 1 3/4" draw through turbo setup. I have read so much general info but I can find any real answers. "just file the needle" tends to be the general comment

Im chasing the following:

1) Does the standard a series mech pump supply adequate flow for this setup? I know pressure is ok but will it refill the fuel bowl fast enough

2) what dash pot oil is recommended? I understand/believe heavier oil richens the mixture. I have proper SU oil 20w is that recommended?

3) what colour dash pot spring?

4) what needle profile code have people used as a start point then refined?

5) Did you use standard size main jet? And do you/did you adjust AFRs with the nut underside or set the main jet at the old school recommended 2 turns out then refine the needle profile?

Thanks in advance. These questions will help other draw through turbo guys. If I get this running right I will post a proper full log of the exact items and settings I used to help others if they are going down this path. There are so many things that arent mentioned in detail when doing the draw through a series turbo that would have helped me heaps if I had known at the start. :)

Hey guys,

I'm playing with my draw through setup having problems but thats for another thread. I'm trying to eliminate some of the variables

Info: Car hasn't started or run for a long time, but has been cranked and had short moments of bad running idle.
I have noticed that the inline fuel filter isn't full, it appears to be at most half full and sometimes almost empty after periods of cranking without it then running. I thought maybe the stock mechanical pump wasn't working properly so took the line off the other side and fuel will pump into a container when cranked

Is an empty filter/low level normal? or should it always be full?

Alright guys!
Lots to report on my dat, I have painted it, assembled 95% of everything, eng is in and started with standard manifolds and carbie

Planning to try to mock up turbo setup this weekend.

Can someone give me some help with turbo coolant lines?
Basically wondering where is best to tee back in from turbo coolant out back into 1200 cooling system
Guessing teeing off the heater in flow hose is where you get the supply from, where is best to put back in?

Thanks

If you did indeed use a 1k (acrylic) and a 2k clear you are f@cked and that paint will de-laminate in no time.

Assuming this isnt the case, wet sand the whole car with 1200 then 2000 then heavy cut with a machine buff

1k will always require sanding, you never get the full gloss straight off the gun

I'm keen and happy to pay a deposit

I think more people may be keen but got lost in the huge number of pages in this thread as well as the one in project area?

Maybe a fresh thread in classifieds?

Wow where to start with the updates, it has been years since I posted here.

Sold the sedan a long while ago so now its just the ute to build. Car has come along way, Bailz lent me his rotisserie so have the ute on that.

I have moved house and bought a small factory/workshop to continue the build and hobbies, pics are now taken from there

Hey, I'm guessing you want to sell as a complete kit vs separating?

Has/is the turbo carbon sealed?
