Had a quote for $180. I'm in QLD. Thought F' that!

I made mine from material sourced from spotlight. Its similar vinyl to the original dash and seats.

If ya Mrs. is handy with a sewing machine. Happy days.

Remove the old lining. Try and keep it in one piece.

Remove the rods and lay it on the material of choice.

Cut around original lining making sure you lengthen to allow for the seams. Allow 40mm for each seam extra.

If the rods are shot or missing get some 5mm rod from bunnings and bend with pliers.

Sew the 40mm seams making sure to reverse stitch both ends.

Cut slots 80mm from edge in the loops created by the 40mm seams.

Thread the rods through the slot and out the other.

Starting from the front feed the rods through the existing side holes.

Continue from front to back adjusting the rods as you go.

Then just tuck in the perimeter with the existing door surrounds.

Total cost $70. Better than $180. This is a ute though

Let us know how you go.

If the carb you replaced was working fine before the spark issues started, use it to get timing right, then throw ya new carb on.

The new one may be well out of tune, which would make timing difficult.

i tested my first spark lead while turning the starter over and the spark was very yellow and faint

What makes you think it is an electrical problem?

Sounds electrical to me

what does the ballast resistor even look like?

It's the 2 inch white rectangular thingo wired to the coil.

The small cylinder type thing is the condensor. I have had similar probs with my 1200 and replaced it with a new one($8).

This may not be the issue with yours but worth a try

Try replacing the condensor on the dizzy. Mine was the cause of weak spark and the car wouldn't fire. I had replaced everything else (points, leads, dizzy cap, coil, coil resistor, plugs) and this was the culprit. A $5 part
