I am still deciding on what motor to stick in my Datto1000 Ute. motor reg have let me stick in a e13 without engineering it, which means i can turbo it using E15ET stuff OR do i use my 12AT and get it rebuilt which means if i wanna stick it in my ute i will have to engineer it. i want to aim for the 11 second quarter mile mark so it should be possible with both. what do u guys recon, my gut instinks say stick with the E13 idea

have u checked your compression? sometimes when compression is down in 1 or more cylinders the motor can be rough at idle. with boost u may have burnt a ring or valve if u have leaned out. but maybe im talkin crap

i have palns to put a e13et in my datto1000ute. the reason for a e13 is that regency (in adelaide) have let me put a e13 in a 1000 without engineering it and that i know the e15et head will bolt on a e13 also aparently some A series g/boxes bolt on an E series motor but does the celica box wid the moded bellhousing bolt onto a e series box? and... does a e15 crank bolt on to a e13 block?what do u guys think about this idea. i will be running a fuel and ignition computer

just wondering if anybody had any info on if a E15 crank fits in a E13 block. why u ask because motor reg just gave me permission to put a E13 in my Datsun 1000 without engineering it. Also does anybody have a E13 block/motor for sale? if so can u contact me at MattoRX7@hotmail.com

i tend more to think the E15 cause its already turbo'd which means i dont have to make a oil feed or oil return also the E15 is OHC. i found out from Peter Hall that aparently the A series g/box does fit.

i am only gonna choose 1 out of 2 motors for my datto 1000 ute. An E15et or A15et. what one would be better, my plans are to have forged pistions, bigger turbo, fuel and ignition computer, bigger valves ect.. i recon the E15 is the way to go but i just wanna know other peoples opinions.
(bye the way i might be MattoRX7 but my heart lies with Datsuns, u just cant treat a mazda like u can a good old Datto)
