Datsun 1000s (B10 or KB10) were not officially imported into the US. I haven't heard of even one imported.

However, sedans were officially imported into Canada. There is an advertisement for the "2 and 4 door deluxe sedans".

Hi Charlie,

Direct replacement is the 35 or 50 amp:
76-76 F10 (A14)
71 P510 (L16)
71 P520 truck (L16)
73-79 620 truck (L18, etc)

Others are Falcon, and presumably most early 80s Nissan.

If your 1200 ute is a 1971-1973, no. If your ute is a 1974-or-newer, yes except for some minor wiring and emission hose routing, and (most importantly) the exhaust is about an inch higher, so the exhaust pipe might be a bit tight.

Hi leosnake, the 63 is somewhat of a rare bird, so I doubt anyone knows for sure. I would guess that a 63 for L-series engine would use the same throwout lever.

By the way, what did your 63 originally come out of?

The article is for the B310 Japan and North American distributor (Mitsubishi). This is an easy one to wire up, with the full 12V coil. Is the Pulsar E15 distributor of the same type?

Another low-cost option is the Pertronix kit.

Yes, P510s used Borg Warners, then switched to JATCO. My '69 P510 1600 wagon had a two-speed automatic! But 1200s used JATCO 3N71x to start with.

Ade, the 60L and 60A are both for A-series engine. Your transmission sounds like a winner, I wonder what vehicle it orginally came in? Maybe it was a competition part?

If you can get the serial number stamped on the top of the bellhousing flange area, post it here, and I'll add the info to the 5-speed article.
