dear oh dear fm1200, I can see indeed that you are 'not too shy to talk'. Maybe it is you who should exercise some manners and get with the program.
It is my understanding that the whole reason of this website was the sharing and imparting of knowledge and experiences between the owners of these wonderful little cars. Now if someone digresses slighty to illustrate a point and then the original subject of discussion moves on is that such a terrible thing?
And while we are on the subject perhaps you could enlighten us all with some examples and photos of quality, high performance 1200's that you either have owned or currently own, or perhaps you are some tyre kicking snoty nosed, loud mouth would be could be who really does'nt have much to offer other than verbal diarrhoea!
Come on, prove me wrong.
Very best regards

A 'big' T2 off a 1800 front wheel drive Bluebird SSS- this was over 10 years ago now so I think I'd be heading down the watercooled T25 way (or better) if I was to do it again.

1200 rallycar- the o ringing is a very good idea. Some years ago I had a very fast 1200 4 door with a single turbo A14, injected and intercooled. While I had no immediate problems with leaking head gaskets, everytime the engine was pulled down it was clear that there was some 'tracking' between the 2 middle cylinders and with the benefit of hindsight I remain convinced that o ringing would be the best way to go.( probably cheaper than a Nismo headgasket too! )FYI I ran a max. of 12 lb boost- quite honestly they should go well on 8 lb's and pumping the boost right up will not make it go 50% better or anything like it.The single turbo setup in full street trim on 12 lbs was enough to cut a 1/4 mile in 13.7@ 107mph.Funny thing is I've yet to see a CA18 turbo in a 1200 that can reach a higher mph through a 1/4 mile, the thing made excellent hp.

Hi Jas,
I can tell you that theres a genuine one sitting in my garage in Christchurch, yellow and black, fully restored with lots of goodies like lsd, close ratio 5 spd, fully adjustable suspension and a rather nice, somewhat larger than standard engine.
Your're welcome to have a look at it sometime and chew the fat....

By far the easiest way to do this is to use a blower off a 1600, mount it in the normal alternator position and draw through an
1 3/4'' SU carb ( off any old horrible BMC 1800).You will have to prune the needle somewhat and also get the clutch welded up on the blower drive but it will work well.
As far as the inlet manifold goes your best bet is to make up a log type- that is 4 half U bends connested to a top runner with the compressed charge feeding into the middle.
Correctly set up this will work a treat.
FYI some years ago I had an A14 in a 1200 4 door that had a Marshal blower ( a cabin pressurisor off a world war 2 Victor bomber)
with exactly this setup. It turned 112hp at the rear whells and would cut a 1/4 mile in 14.6 seconds at 87 mph.
