On my street/autocross 1200 I'm running 250# springs in the front. They seem to match up with the rear leaf springs nicely. If you stiffen the front with higher rate springs and/or stiffer anti-sway bar you will need to add a rear anti-sway bar, preferably an adjustable one so you can balance the handling of the car.

If I remember correctly, that feeds the electric choke. Last time the electric choke did not warm up I cleaned the fuse and connectors in the pic and the choke started functioning correctly.

I'm looking for a water heated round port intake manifold. Not sure what models they came on.

Years ago I had a round port small chamber head that had the water passages for a heated manifold so I know that they exist, somewhere... It was a late model head as it did not not have the oil passage that the early A series had.

Thanks,

Gary

I'm looking for an H150 differential with the 3:55 gear set. Anyone got one they want to sell?

Thanks,

Yep, the 1200's came with a single groove pulley unless the car was equipped with dealer added AC.

On a side note, anyone have a H150 diff with 3.55 gears they want to sell?

I've been teasing Maggie that we should get this one so we have a pair of yellow 1200's, one of each model that was available in the US. Comment was something about not needing 4 garage queens plus a daily driver for 2 people. She has an '84 BMW 628 European gray market car.

I don't think I could get 3 1200's in my 1 car garage though. It was a challenge getting 2 of them in there...

Craigs list add, Scappose Oregon.

Craigs list Datsun 1200 coupe.

From add:

"This is a great little daily driver. Has a new Weber carb, new nissan header, new exhaust, almost new tires. The car runs and drives well. 12" wheels, 1200 engine, 5 speed trans. Really nice interior. electric trunk opener. 2010 oregon tags. Being a 1973 there is No DEQ ever in Oregon. Garage kept.
We just have too many cars."

Check the idle circuit. Sounds like the idle main jet is plugged. Gives these symptoms, runs fine except at idle and just above idle.

Thanks for the encouragement! I've got a A16 in progress that I hope to have in the car by spring here in the northwest of the US. Similar build- stock crank and rods, 79mm pistons from B-Projects, worked oval port head with 39mm intakes and 33mm exhaust. Will be running dual 40mm webers and extractor. Basically all that is left is choosing the camshaft and figuring out how much to open up the combustion chambers to get the CR down to 10 to 1.
