40 DCOE Side draft webers v Bike carbs

I've seen a lot of people lately opting for quad bike-carb set ups and was wondering if anyone has gone from twin webers to bike carbs and what the differences were. From what I've seen the bike carbs are much cheaper to buy than a twin weber set up but I'm interested in performance gains, economy, or ease of tuning etc

Cheers

Hi clyons8, I recently bought an unmolested H89 from an A15 non egi engine and paid $270. Head was standard with no port work or planing so $600 seems a little high.

Cheers

Thanks for the info Benny, how was your in person trip? Do they negotiate on price if you rock up with a pocket full of folding stuff?

Has anyone from Australia purchased any parts from pitroad in Japan and was the process easy for ordering and postage etc. Some of there stuff is super expensive but other parts not too bad.

Clyson has nailed it I'm afraid, $6k is much more realistic and more than I have in my wallet too!! Bummer would be an awesome project back to original spec with some go fast goodies.

Cheers Steve,

Great info and plenty for me to look into. I found this site www.andysautosport.com and was thinking of buying the universal seat rails and trying to modify them to fit either the existing rails or the original mounts. I'll let you know how I get on and what I decide on.

Hello,

I want to upgrade my 1200 ute seats to the Saas racing type seats sold at Autobarn and was wondering if anyone can tell me what mods will be required to the original seat rails or can I buy new ones?

Are there rail adaptors around or will I have to get some fabricated?

Cheers
