The rust has returned in my pillars for the 2nd time. Has anyone thought to cut the pillars out, and have one shaped and welded in? One that wont let the water pool. It would be easier with
a ute I guess, as there is a chassis and if U have a roll bar, it would not have to be as strong as if it were a coupe or sedan. If anyone has done it before, even if not on a 1200, I would
like to hear from U.

thanx

I saw a 1200 ute at the jamboree with a 12A turbo in it. Is it legal in queensland? And if you dont run too much boost, can a rotary be reliable? I wont be putting it in if
the seals need redoing every 50 thousand K's.

The spacer plates from autobarn are huge, the smallest is 15 mm I think. I used some old brake drums off a 200B with the edges cut off, they spaced out my fronts enough to get 195 x 14s on.
But my guards are really pumped and I have 3 degrees of camber. You may need to cut and bend the arch inside the guard (if you dont plan on repainting soon, dont do it). To get around the
weel nut problem, go to a wreckers and look through a bucket of old tyre bolts. Find some that are have a long shank that actually goes inside the hole in the wheel. These then will lock
the spacer in place.

I have 1200 ute that is almost ready for a new engine.

For a start is the z18 turbo legal? And if so does it fit without
moving tunnel/firewall?
