Certainly not a sandwich !
But , as I found , plenty of datto bits.
Give `em a call like dodgeman said, you could be pleasantly surprised.

OK you blokes ! Here`s a little secret that I bet most people don`t know.
The first question you should ask yourselves is how much carby you can use ?
Most people don`t know the answer, they usually copy an existing set-up or take a ghess(like most on this forum).
EVERY engine has a maximum gas flow rate and an optimum carby size. There is a simple formula to calculate this !

Cubic capacity(in inches) multiplied by Max Revs, divided by 2.
This gives you the cubic inch of gas per minute it can breathe. Divide this by 1728 for cubic feet per minute (CFM).

For example: Lets say this comes out to 650cfm.If you fit a 750cfm carby, you won`t gain more power because the motor can`t breathe in any more ! But you WILL lose gas velocity & as a result droplets of fuel will form and tend to drown spark at lower revs.

Much better to err on the smaller side as, unless you get down to ridiculious levels, it is almost impossible to undercarb an engine.
You will lose top end power, but that`s about all.

Mate ! Without being too pretentious, I think this little episode shows the importance of the light handed spanner twirl and some good ol` "feel" with your hands.
You should always remember "Tight is Tight & Broken is TOO Tight".

I`m not havin` a go at ya ,but I hope this piece of information, along with your recent component bustage, racks up a lesson for next time.

Oh and don`t worry, I used to be a consistent "bolt breaker". So i`m not just spinning a yarn !

Like dattodude said get yourself a Torque - wrench and then "remember the feel".
Yeh, sounds stupid, but you give it a go and see what happens.

Hope this didn`t come across as a lecture!

Good screwing

I can answer question 3 !
The bluebird( ca20 engine )series 3 came with two types of 5speeds.A borg warner & a jap 5speed.
I know for a fact that the jap 5speed bolts straight up to the ca18 & sits the gearstick approx. 40-50mm further rearward of the original location(in a ute).

The pintara used the borg warner 5speed same as the bluebird ones. Stay away from these B/W boxes as they`re not very strong

Hope this is helpful ?

Maybe this thing was a 1200 powered
K&N sticker! Then it would have pissed in 9.9 secs.

Imagine what an N.O.S sticker would do
