Do you think that the manifolds might add a little bit off difficulty....I imagine they will be pointing out the side of the car, rather than towards the back of the car.

Also you'll have to find a tail shaft that will fit, then there's the diff, then there is the conversion of the fuel tank to accomodate EFI, or the addition of swirl tank.

The customise crossmember you will need too.

I hope I'm not putting you off...but have started a few of these projects, there is always so much more to them.

But everyone here in this forum is really giving and helpful, and are happy to share their knowledge which is great.

Nice outcome....

Maybe startrack is only for retail...I have stuff delivered from a store in Adelaide.

Enjoy the wheels....pics at some point would be nice for all.

When you say Quote:
i had a bit of a look around looks good but could not find much info on manual to auto conversion
do you mean auto to manual conversion....I assume so as that would make more sense.

As to answering your question...you might need someone more expert than me,

But it sounds like that motor comes out of a FWD Nissan Pulsar....now that is going to be problems into a RWD Datto. (I think)

Well....the initial plan it to learn how to strip, check, clean and rebuild an A series engine. Once this is done I've got an A15 doing nothing.

I'll strip down that A15 check it out, put it back together and stuff in my 1200 coupe, for use as a circuit car.

A long way to go yet, but the fun but is a lot of learning to go too!

Appreciate the interest.

Well here it is on the stand. M8 (or 8mm) bolts did the trick.

I noticed there are only 4 bolt holes in the bell housing that goes through the other side. And these are the 4 I used.

Here's a picture.

Have you checked what a courier company might charge? I think you could find that it is significantly less than $100.

If you want to help out a Datto1200 member all good, but if your looking for the cheapest option....Startrak or a similar courier company could be the go.

I think it cost $60 for me to get an engine crane + engine stand + trolley jack + 4x car stands to be sent from Adelaide via courier - at a total weight of well in excess of 100kg, should be a bit more expensive than 4 wheels.

I guess it depends on the engine stand too....the four arms (that the bolt go through) have an inside diameter of around 14mm...an M8 bolt has a 12mm head.

I'm going to try a washer type arrangement tonight, I'll take some pics if it actually works.

I have some 12.9 M8 bolt I managed to score from the store at work and a selection of washers...here's hoping they do the job.

Cool

Glad to hear someone else has done it the way I plan tomorrow night...

I'm just going to get some M8 bolts (the same as the ones that hold the bellhousing on.

I was just a little unsure it 4 x 8mm diameter bolts would be enough to hold up an engine. (Although a mech eng at work was telling me each M8 bolt should hold a few ton....so four should be no drama.

Here's where I'm taking pics of it all (the website is a bit crappy yet...one day I'll learn)

Can someone share their experiece....

I'm going to put an A12 up on an engine stand tonight, but am not sure on the bolts to use (or really how to do it).

I know the flywheel and bellhousing bolt holes seem to be the most likely places I can attach to the engine stand.

Does anyone know the designation of the bolts in the flywheel (14mm head) and Bellhousing (12mm head)?

Nice find!

And better than trawling through a wrecker too!

I've learnt the lesson if you use cheap and dodgy parts....it's only going to cost more in the end.
