Thanks DD. Wrapping up identifying all of the bolts. Here are the gusset-to-block bolts with a philips head. Think I got them right. They fit nicely. And the bottom housing bolt is shorter in length (20mm) since it only secures the adapter plate to the transmission and has a "4" marking.

Now on to a problem I have is that the transmission (FS5W60A) is not sitting down inside of the A-15 crankshaft. There is a plug on the end of the crankshaft preventing it from setting in there. Any idea what is going on?

Clutch cover bolts...aka pressure plate bolts??

Starter bolts are 14mm.

Got my gusset bolts figured out. There is a "9" or "b" stamped on the end. I have 2 types of gussets. The heavier one is for my 56L gearbox?

Am I missing anything in the pic with the starter and gusset installed? With the exception of the smaller bolt which I found.

Still sorting and got the starter bolts figured out. They are stamped with "TR7" and right at 35mm just as DD indicated. They are flush with the end of the transmission housing. Can't tell from the pic. Will post the bolt head size tomorrow.

For sure staying with OEM Nissan bolts. I replaced a set of heads on a GMC truck not too long ago and decided to try ARP bolts for the exhaust manifolds. Heard alot of good things about that brand. Several of the bolts started to cross thread into the cylinder heads and had to keep backing them out to get them started and the bolt heads were not as big as the GM bolts. Got rid of them and bought Genuine GM bolts. The Nissan flywheel bolts are quite impressive.

I posted the pressure plate bolts. Do they look like correct ones? A total of 6 and right at 18mm.

Makes sense! Ok will remeasure tomorrow. Any way to visually tell the difference between low, medium and high strength bolts? All of the bolt heads have a number or letter stamped. Does that indicate anything. Thanks again.

Thanks DD. Need more help on this. I found an old thread that you had on this same subject and you made a nice sketch. Are there any markings on the bolt heads that would help me sort them out? With regard to the long bolts, I have more of the 65mm than I do of the 60mm which appear to be the correct ones? I wouldn't think there would be a problem to use the 65mm. I have 3 setups, 2 are A15/60A 5-speed and 1- A12/56 4-speed all of which use the 3.5mm plate. I am sorting the bolts for the A15/5 speed.

Can't seem to find the correct starter bolts. There are a pair of identical bolts in one of the pics about 35mm but are not the proper thread for the starter. Any way you can tell if the bolts I have posted belong with the housing?

Need help sorting through the bag of bolts I have to get the correct bolts to secure A series engine to transmission. I have 2 different long bolt lengths. Also does the starter have 2 different size bolt heads? If I could get the Tech Wiki link that shows all of these bolts that would be much appreciated.

Hey DD...is there much difference between early and late A12 engine other than the oil pan and where dizzy lines up? Bores look to be the same with the exception of A12A engine. Advantages of one over the other? Any limitations with cylinder heads? I have early A12, with stock pistons, sitting on garage floor collecting dust.

So this one was used with the H95 head?

Thanks for all that DD. The intake ports appear to measure the same around 33mm for both. It has been awhile since I disassembled these motors and wasn't sure which carb/intake was on the H89 head. More interested in the intake. Visually I do not see a difference. I was only able to read one marking next to the float glass. The other one is gone. 306-101?

The intake stamp H95 means it is for a H95 head and in my case also used on the H89?? Wonder if the intake was modified?
