Get it as neat as you can with what you have, and then get a steel gasket to take up the slack.

Or, on second though, make a gasket out of sealant. It'll never come off though.

If the capacity is the thin one on the right, and the charge is the large set of bars just left of it, then why is the charge higher than the capacity in DD's second photo?
Is it supposed to be that it is 95ish% of the lowered capacity? I'd expect that the charge's maximum limit would decrease parallel to the maximum capacity.

If all else fails maddat sell larger aluminium box fuel tanks for the 510's. 60L for $1600 AUS with all the bells and whistles. You could probably make it fit.

Hey DD, how would having the drive gear in the transmission help the speedo read correctly? It still can't tell how many revolutions the wheels have compared to distance covered, can it?

Check your hubs? I've just fixed a landcruiser for the same issue. Turns out the hubseal had kicked the bucket and there was oil running over the rotor. Fixda and now it's working perfectly again.
