those golfs are mad :)

i've got a photo of a Mk1 golf when i was in germany - this thing was radioactive green, about 50mm off the ground with 13x9s under it with about 3in flares all round.

it was phat, it was mean, and had audi turbo power. i was weak at the knees.

B110/B210 runners are exceptionally high, when i fitted P710 seats to my B110 with P710 rails the seat height came down about 2in!

my advice is take a seat out, and sit one of the N13 pulsar seats in there and see what needs moving.

you may even find the N13 seats come close to bolting straight to the B210 runners, in which case make some extensions out of 6mm bar and re-situtate your seat back a few inches.

dont forget to triangulate the mounts though, or you'll have a swivel bar stool for a driver's seat!

to save this becoming a "blow thru versus draw thru" argument again - my advice is to follow phunk's advice.

read up on people's experiences and decide for yourself which you feel is better.

I'm thinking no worries it's all legal blah blah blah. Doh! Thanks to Mr Pacemaker, their 1&3/4" 4-1 headers for LS1's are to low and cause your car to be defectable under the height rule/law. the rules quite clearly stipulate "a minimum 100mm ground clearance to any part of the vehicle EXCLUDING the exhaust"

so, it just shows you have to know the rules.

a nasty cop can get you if they feel like it as your wheels are considered a part of the vehicle - so low profiles can get you a sticker unless your tyres are 100mm tall .

so, that SS is quite legal after all.

if you're not running a carb retun line then yeah! it will be flooding.

an EFI pump pushes about 3bar of fuel pressure, whereas a mechanical pump or an electric h-h-h-holley pump or the like will only push about 0.5bar.

the carby can easily hold back 0.5bar with the piston inside, but 3bar it will just force its way thru.

either run a bundy return line to the pot or change the pump to a h-h-holley or a carter or pierburg or whatever.

i picked up a 7psi carter pump (72gal/hr) for $80 brand new.

if you port the head yourself, remember size isn't everything.

i've been looking at L heads in section and the short turn (the lowest part of the port just before the valve) could do with a review.

that said, raising the roof of the port (ala porting VN V8 heads) and puttying up the bottom of the port to reduce the "turn" should see substantial gains in torque throughout the whole powerband.

the short turn isn't as bad as, say, an E15, but it could do with some work.

but that's just my opinion.
