I need to try and avoid pulling the engine. I have too many problems as is with the county code enforcement, and I can't risk any violation's. Pulling the engine would draw a little too much attention.

What does this mean?

The crank on the other hand will need a fair bit of work if going over 87mm

82mm stroke - 45mm crankpins vs 87mm stroke - 40mm crankpins
The 5mm in stroke is made up with the 5mm smaller crankpins.

Offset grinding the crank by 5mm will actually give you 10mm extra throw/stroke..

I know that it's an ethanol/gasoline blend, but I can't seem to find any decent info on it's performance. I would think it'd burn cooler which is also a good thing, meaning it isn't such an aggressive fuel as standard or premium pump fuel.

Re E85 - this is 85% Ethanol (and therefore 15% gasoline). From articles I've read Ethanol has less energy content than petrol (hence V8 Supercars having to run richer mixtures/burn more fuel/more fuel stops last year).

Here in NZ we have the exhaust brand "Wolf". They made (make?) 2 types of extractors for A series:
1. Single carb - tubes 2&3 go under 1&4 (relatively tight bend down to get under the inlet manifold.
2. Twin carb - tubes 2&3 go over 1&4 (and look like they'd flow better).
(Coby brand may be the same?)

I'd be checking this aspect more so than whether A12/A14/A15.

Rough benchmark for a good race-spec 2 valve/pushrod engine:
100 BHP per litre (at flywheel) - eg 1300cc / 130BHP
80 BHP per litre (at wheels) - eg 1300cc / 104BHP
At 7500-8000rpm.

A suitably sized large washer from a hardware store works fine too.
