You can paint strip the moulds then polish them, will save a bit of time, but can get messy.

There is a place in Girraween called the bronzing studio who can chrome your parts for you. They can even chrome plastic. I have heard they do a good job but a bit pricey. I suppose you get what you pay for.
cheers

I bought a brand New Taiwanese rear panel which fitted perfect when I got my 1200 ute repaired and painted black with a lilac pearl.

It cost me $30 and they had a few in stock at the time. That was late last year. I got it from Wetherill Park Panels in N.S.W the phone number is (02) 9756-3011.

Good luck

Amshaw, I put central locking in my ute and a remote key alarm which unlocks both doors when you press the button. Its quicker an both doors lock. You still need the original door lock key if the unexpected happens and your battery goes flat.

Teretonga, have a look at autopics.com.au it is a site with pictures from bathurst and other races through the years. I had a look and they have a couple of photos of 1200 sedans prior to the date you posted and a couple of coupes after the date. The photos have the number of the car, the year raced and the drivers names. I hope this helps your cause.

I currently have an A12 engine for sale with a GX head attached. The Head has oval ports, double valve springs and extra water ports under the oval ports. It also has the exhaust manifold. The inlet manifold and carbie are missing. The motor was running prior to being removed.

I also have an A14 engine for sale which has an oval port head with double valve springs but no water ports under the oval ports. The engine is also missing the inlet manifild and carbie. It needs a reco.

I have a four speed gearbox, unknown what condition it is like inside.

I have front, rear window and drip rail moulds for a coupe and the vents which go on the rear quarter panels. I have some suspension bits and pieces which I want to get rid of also.

I will seperate the bits, best offer will get it.

Thanks
Kel

Mikali, you can also try Wetherill Park Panels at Nello Place Wetherill Park for Taiwanese panels.

Mikali, is the breather pipe on the rocker cover and the breather on the side of the engine connected to your air cleaner. I found with mine that the side one came off one day and all I could smell inside was exhaust fumes.
.
I had a webber on mine and now have twin su's and find that when I give it a bit of a serve it stinks inside too. It is more prevalent when I have the window down and when the tarp is on.
regards
Kel.

Thanks for the help with GX head guys,

Is there any chance I can pick your brains a bit more?

The block that the head is attached to has a number N58A stamped at the front near the water pump. I checked another A12, an A14, and my A15 and they don't have anything stamped in the same spot. Does this mean anything to anyone? What are the differences between a GX block and internals without pulling it apart.

Will the A12 GX head fit my A15 without any problems?

Would this head give me any power gains?

The engine came with a two piece exhaust manifold that has two pipes which bolt up to another two and go into one further down. Is this a GX system also?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Kelvin.
