Backfire is right. use the correct polish for the good you are doing.
dont forget the piant on the car will be thin so dont rub too hard.
you might even try useing a colour based polish after you have cut and before a plain polish.

they are cast headers as you discribed.
Land Transport NZ allow new bodies and vin an rego plates may be swaped as long as you are swapping like for like i.e. 4 door for 4 door. you must be the lawful owner of both vehicles.
i am luckly that i have the orginal ownership papers that say' Datsun 1200 SSS'and the numbers match.
as for the paint. no SSS was exactly like the other. some sills were painted (unlike mine), some window surrounds were blackened (like mine) the bonnet was always pianted. there were 3 SSS badges. air cleaners will have been changed in30 years . no idea what the orginals look like , mine has Ramco.
the car was passed in if a reserve of about $7k.

i am replacing the head gasket on the SSS. while apart i will be cleaning it up. what colour should i paint the headers. they are the factory cast items. Silver , white or black?

Does anybody know the ratio of the diff in my '81 720 ute. It has N2 on the top of the housing. Ute is an 1800, 4speed.

i have my SSS because its affordable.
i also drive a 720 ute.

i dont mind replacing things if i have to but with the twin carbs attached to the a12 while sitting on the workshop floor seams a waste.
the 1200SSS had a standard head.

as you know i have a SSS. will the carbs manifold and extrators fit on an a15. or will the a12 head fit on to the a15 block.
i want some extra power

a local guy got charged with dangerous driving after been court doing 106 in a 50.
hewas convicted and lost his licence for 6 months.
