Yes was considering something like that. Or maybe some small rivets.
I couldn’t really bend the original staples with a screwdriver when I tried to remove them, so I assume they were strong enough to pierce through the steel trim piece. Curious to know if these are a special staple and what sort of stapler would be used to shoot them in. I do own an electric staple gun, but I doubt the staples I have would shoot through steel...although maybe it could.
I recently replaced the inner door glass belt seals and noticed that the outer ones were looking a bit sad.
Pulled off the chrome trim along the door glass ledge and had a look at the belt seal. It’s attached by 5 heavy duty staples. I’ve managed to remove a couple of them and will continue on...but I’m really not sure how to go about stapling the new seals on.
Can anybody shed some light on how they’ve done it?
Yes that’s right. So place the large retaining washer on the rod followed by a rubber bushing. Then poke that through the bracket hole and put the second bushing, large washer and nut on the other side of the bracket.
Probably the best solution. But no doubt expensive. For some reason the left hand mirrors have always been harder to find than the right as I remember having to track one down years ago to pass a RWC. Probably the opposite is true in USA!
