Thanks guys. The domed H4s from Hella sounds like an idea. I will find out from my local parts store if they have a catalog. Any suggestions of which car I must look at that will have the closest head light design to the 1200's?
Or do they list a H4 for the 1200.

The datsun comes standard with those sealed beam round head lights.
I just want to know if it possible to get round head lights for them that the bulb can be removed and replaced?
It must look standard.
I want to put in head lights but want to upgrade the bulbs to higher watts and then install relays for them.

This I also think is normal. My 2004 Nissan Pulsar is doing exactly the same. What I am doing to the Datsun and the Pulsar is put it first into second gear and then reverse. Works like a charm and goes into reverse without any problems.

Don't use dish washing liquid. It contains salts and minerals that makes the car rust and removes the wax layer you might have on the car if you frequently wax the car.
