so i bumped into a bloke who has two stripped down 1200 coupes in his yard and is wanting to get rid of as much of it as possible (im very lucky he found me before he went to the wreckers and crushed it all! it pays off driving around an old car sometimes, as he saw the car and approached me).

dont everyone go too silly (as i did when this seller approached me), but i would be happy to pickup bits for Sydney Datsun 1200 owners. Hes located near Hornsby in Sydney.

I do not know how much anything is at this point. I told him I will pay whatever to get what I want to buy (coupe doors, boot, bonnet etc).
(dont ask me!)

Anyone interested can you post up your query here (hit REPLY), I will post a reply with details or send PM's to people if I can find the bits they're after.

GET IN QUICK, im going to look at all the bits tomorrow afternoon. Thats Tuesday!

soon i will be selling my used parts too!
i currently have 2 x 1200 fenders in top nick. un-used fakes, still in box. they are black in colour (primed).

you should get yourself a 12V coil, if the one you are using is NOT. i originally used a mazda 323 coil for a while then went to the matching coil (which was a subaru model from the 80's) when i changed to the N12 dissy.
all the while i was using a full 12v system, without the ballast. i was originally using a JayCar HEI kit, then went full electronic ignition when I got my hands on the N13 dissy.
basically, if your coil heats up enough(too hot to touch), it is BAD. test it

hi ive got an a15 water pump which is suited for a clutch fan, off something like a nissan vanette. id be happy to sell it as ive no need for it! ive also got a gasket for it too.
datsun water pumps are easily available over here, even new in stores.. theyre the same as an a12 water pump in most instances. goodluck!

a weber well tuned should perform as smoothly as a well-tuned stock carby. i only had troubles with my weber when it was jetted for an L20 (when i 1st put it in my a12).

im currently looking at changing my jets now im using a pair of dcoe webers, as it drinks too much when i floor it a lot. (used 1/2 tank of fuel in 100kms chasing my old man in his e-type after saturday of the bathurst speed weekend). my engine oil temp reached 100c, even with a small cooler!! im changing to 20w-60 oil now!

as for tuning, a friend of mine has been tuning the mixture by ear until i bought a carb balancer which is GREAT, (just like the ones on ebay), it makes tuning a pair a lot easier. they run well but backfire a bit when cold, apart from that theyre perfect. can idle at ~700 smoothly, although i run idle up to 900-1000 when at normal operating temp. cold start idle is around 500-600 at which time the datto is a little wobbly. i dont use the choke on my dcoe's..

ive had no experience with 32/36 down carbs, so perhaps this doesnt apply much.

my dcoe's keep me sane

a12 radiator way too small. my 15 is behind a nissan urvan radiator at the moment and i now need to get a bigger fan (bigger than the 12" electrical one i have now). sydney traffic SUX.
nissan urvan radiator

over $100 is way too much even for nissan to charge. i think they charged me 50 something for an a12 one, which im using in an a15.
true repco is like $12, but nissan brand is worth getting for the temp sender.. i rekon..

goodluck!
