MadTimo i wouldve liked to have seen ure 1600!! thanks for the pic !! (& others).
She doesnt look too bad.ish.. i just fixed the front bumper up too! Also u cant see the rust developing on the unsprayed undercoated bonnet.
Ive just been offered a straight bonnet, boot lid, 2 coupe doors, 2 guards & lots of other bits from a fellow only 20 mins from where I reside. So she (the coupe) will be straight and she will be the same colour, but with a painted matt black bonnet.. sometime soon..ish.

also - the nissans sure as #### gave the fords a hard time on saturday!!! So many other cars owned those fords. eg turbo rotors, turbo RB nissans, kit cars. that wagon is sexy, ive seen one on the road once too, i was able to beat (one of the same model wagon w/ turbo) up a hill behind chatswood once, due to turbo lag

It was also great to meet some members!!!

I took around 150 pictures and put together an album. Hopefully I didnt get too close to anyone's motors to bother anyone ! if so, email me and ill take your pic/movie down.

Theres some movies and pics of the phat 1200 coupes present at the event, also a lot of others including the pics of the MkII jag which i watched get slightly sideways and smack hard into a wall. YOUCH!!!

edit : 1200GXman, Ive gone with a straight thru 2" zorst with a sports muffler and ive also used a resinator to make it quieter. It sounds wikid from about 1.5k all the way out. Mine sorta sounds a bit like Benny's, but nothing like ca18det's !!

hey mic120Y, theres heaps of info on this site regarding 5 speeds. try searching for it with the search function on the LHS of this website.. since your already a member you can also look up stuff under the Tech Section.

for fifth in a datto 1200,most people go with either -
toyota rwd gearbox eg celica T50
nissan rwd gearbox eg 56a, 60a or 63a.

my original 56a 4spd died the same way. i was about to reverse it up the road and onto the hoist, as soon as i let slide the clutch, it broke and sounded like glass breaking! was cold too. i towed it up the street and put it on the hoist and put in the 60a gearbox, which eventually was found to be foobarred, due to excess noise in all gears.

this 60a gearbox is in pieces in a box in my garage if u get really needy of a 5 speed. like i said it made nasty noises. bearings replaced recently.

hi unfamilia ive also had issues with my battery light. the light is clearly ON when car has ignition but is not started.. once driving the light is mainly off. it never seems to go completely off, no matter what - i can see the light still slightly lit. sometimes at idle it pulses, usually when its cold and idling low. ive given up looking at it and just look at my little 30$ voltometer that tells me the exact voltage regardless of what the mysterious light is feeling like. sorta like this one.. the one i use is the ice alert one from jaycar.. i couldnt find the right pic anyway ->Open in new window

nzdatman i dont race with my motor but its pretty much a stage2 motor with head, valves, cam, bore etc modified. im running about the same compression and same octane.
i changed my timing this weekend and found it was set at 20degrees! i put it back to 15 and its been running better and easier to start too. im using a modified n12 pulsar elec dissy. not using vacuum plug on dissy. revs happily out to and past 6 (where i usually slow down since im on a public road)
