DD thanks for the suggestion but ive definitely tried the no 'www' bit at the beginning. No speed-up software, im behind my linux firewall which is running slow-down software (wondershaper) to alleviate for the upstream queing issue effecting cable/adsl modems worldwide (i do this so i can leech 24/7 and still get relatively low latency). you may notice the Open in new window
on most of my postings, it is the linux mascot, Tux. Linux also rules along with Datsun 1200's.

BuRp newsflash i actually decided to try figure it out and just did, my firewall was dropping icmp packets (pings) from datsun1200.com (even though it NEver seemed to do that before a few weeks agO) so i made the certain changes to my iptables and now its all sweet. sorry for the ####talk i hadnt even intestigated it properly yet. datsuns rule computers suck.

hooray its working again
PING datsun1200.com (83.132.110.7): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 83.132.110.7: icmp_seq=0 ttl=233 time=354.8 ms
64 bytes from 83.132.110.7: icmp_seq=1 ttl=233 time=360.6 ms
64 bytes from 83.132.110.7: icmp_seq=2 ttl=233 time=354.9 ms
i cant perform a complete traceroute to datsun1200.com, possibly it is behind a nat firewall like mine.. not sure.

still pretty slow but thats cuz our australian sourced packets have to travel across around 20 router hops before they reach netcabo.pt where datsun1200.com seems to be .. even from connect.com's fibre backbone does this slow ping exist. damn slow internet in 2004, wait 5-10 years and it will rock.

ang94541, the reason is says it took >1 second to load page is that this forum is dynamic and it took the webserver (the computer on which datsun1200.com data is located) that long to compile the page before sending it out to your web browser. also interesting what you say about the 21 hops, it seems strange it is 20+ hops from AU as well as US.. see below the out put of my traceroute.. interesting to compare the two..

bullshit isnt it..

has it been pressure tested recently ? my gemini rad cost $50 then $40 for pressure testing/spray paint then i needed to get a mate to make mounts to just get it in there! then the right in/out hoses from the radiator where hard to find too, due to different width's at either end of the hose.

'sunny' in datsun terms could mean lots of models of datsuns, in different countries. best place for stanza struts is the wreckers! remember to get 120Y castor rods as well, although ive read about stanza struts using stanza castors on 1200's too.. good luck.

godabeute i just ordered and received my apron from OZEPARTS. they sent it over night for $15 freight. all up cost me $50. i payed thru netbank and even had conversations with one of the guys there over email - he seemed like a good honest bloke...

being in Perth the logistics involved could mean it going from 1 courier company to another to another. poor luck there for you mate - but just to rectify for eastern australians - i got a good deal. email these people and complain to them about it - if you have a hardcopy quote and cant find any small print stating otherwise, you should be entitled to some money back from them. especially since its now warped and will probably require repair.

last night we ordered a pizza and it was late so we called up and ended up getting 3 pizzas for $10.. sometimes its worth it to chase people up when they stuff up.

THEN a few weeks ago i had 3 panels sent from VIC and when they got there one of the panels was warped and had 8 little dents in it. i did nothing about it and will just have to get it fixed when the car goes into the body shop, later down the track. in the end of that the 3 B110 panels cost me $52 to buy and $180 to ship to Sydney.

excuse the verbal diarrhea everyone.

yo not that i know much but a 32/36 will fit a datsun 1200 the same as a DCOE weber can fit a 1600 or a 1200. Almost.

you need an adapter plate to fit onto your stock manifold. ref HERE

i found this info using the search button.
i say bid on it (or wait till 1 min left then bid) eheh

performance wise you should expect a definite improvement. i had a huge improvement from my stock 1200 carb to a single DCOE. (although i also had extractors by then)
a bloke i met who owns these datsun's has been using his 32/36 for many many years on his bored A15 - he says it goes well and has great consumption, even highway driving.

thanks for the advice fellas. i am going to check them out tomorrow as I told the guy I would so ill see what happens then. I dont know much about DCOE/DHLA's so I was unsure about the non weber-brand side draughts first off. i trust u guys though so i may reconsider. if i dont buy them i will definitely tell them to expect some calls. the phone number is at work ill have to post it tomorrow. cheers

1 more thing , are parts for dellortos available ? would there be any reason for me to NOT buy these ?

The place I found these dell's at is called 'arnaldo' the phone number is 9487 1677. they still have the twin 40's there, but note they DID come off a 2LTR alfa - so read the rest of this post (other comments) and see what u think. they are in pretty good nic, i got a photo on my phone if any1 wants it. or else go buy em. they offered me $250 cash cuz i spoke nicely to them so try and do the same and you should be able to get the same price for em. they only have 1 pair of 40 dell's in at the moment.
