tires can be odd, try rotating the tires and seeing if the problem changes.

i think all the 60 series gear boxes are standard gear positions and the 63 is the dogleg version.

I have seen quit a few 60 series 5 speeds on ebay recently. I paid $350 for one in decent condition. Some other ones of unknown condition are going for as cheap as $50.

btw... if you have a source for a dogleg in the states perhaps i could obtain one of those and sell you my standard 5 speed, as I'd rather have a dogleg ;)

I already have the 5 speed tranny. so the 3.54 gear ratio would give me higher top speed. I think the car will go perhaps 100 mph. I'll have to use the gps to keep an eye on how fast it goes (putting in a tach would be good too...).

Traction Control?

I usually hate traction control systems that use the brakes to simulate having a LSD, but would it be possible to pick up a cheap used ABS modulator and hack together a setup that would watch the speed of the rear wheels and pulse the brakes to that wheel that was loosing traction? Yeah i know that means you need disk brakes on the rear. I suppose if you have disk brakes then you already have a h190 or something that you could add a LSD to.

just a thought...

All the B-210 5-speeds were doglegs, I think. The B-210 MPG also had a five speeed. Do you have the Hollander parts list? It shows the interchange.

reeealy...
so the A15 B210's came with the 63 series dogleg 5 speed?
d'oh and i just bought a 60 series maybe next time.

what gearing is ideal? I have an HA37. Higher final drive numbers = lower top speed / more torque?

for me higher top speed would be best, i have the 80mph speedo and freeway driving tends to get it pegged.

unless you have a differnt rear suspension setup, my 310 has a coil spring and a hydraulic damper, so the rear suspension isn't special. get good dampers and springs.

i'm looking at those coilover from technotoytuning.com, those are nice, that stuff will work on a 310? Also consider a camber plate for the frontend.

keep in mind though that you'll have to cut off the 280ZX spring mounts and possibly have to shorten the strut tube as well.

it's a good time to make coil overs. that's what i'm waiting for. those big brakes should stop good. what does the 280 strut / brake do to the unsprung weight?

ground wires = bs.

sure people think they work better and sport compact says they make the idle smoother and added 3-5 hp on a 150 hp car.

i'd recommend replacing the old ground cable with a new good one and a good heavy ground strap to the engine too.

we don't have any spiffy electronics to benefit from a 'better ground'.
