Ive just painted up a bike and used upol two pack clear.

You lay down your base colour over your primer and then 3 coats of clear over the top. Achieved excellent results and the advantage of 2 pack is the gloss finish and you can get way without buffing unlike single pack lacquers.

A good gravity fed gun is a must and painting in a suitable environment.

If you want I could paint your bonnet and tail gate for you as these will fit in the booth at work. But you would have to wait 8 weeks till Im on Holidays.

Going to be a sweet little engine when its done.

Has it got a towbar. If so check for corrosion in the socket. The problems of flash rate is usually something wrong with the total load of all the globes in the circuit.

Corrosion in the trailer plug will cause a change in impedance or even a wrongly wired socket.

They go through phases where people / wamt them or dont. I sold a mint condition one for $100 about 6 months ago, which I was happy to do, but 12 months ago I couldnt get $50 for it.

From memory Pigdog had a couple as well.

They do turn up if you are patient

Un-likely to be bearings if the noise goes away when you back off.

If its a Borg Warner diff I would lean towards the crown and pinion being worn. Or the pre-load on the crown and pinion is way off.

Link Dont work

From my experience run an electric sender speedo like the VDO which can accept an input signal from any type of sender that will fit into your box. Bang on accurate too.

To lift back of box need to cut tunnel around shifter and re-make that bit, then modify gearbox mount and probally exhaust.

Then rotate mountings on diff to get pinion to line up better than it is now. Hopefully tailshaft wont need to be shortened slightly.

The old Yamaha is in bits now Jesse, almost ready for paint. But rode my 650 YAmaha to work today as Xtrail getting clutch and 1200 got no front wheels.
