Contact Pedders in Canningvale.

You will need the loaded spring height of the Stanza springs that are in your car.

If you dont know how to measure this they can instruct you on how.

Tell them ride hight and stiffness that you want and they will calculate and sudgest several springs.

Eliminates all the trial and error - Good Luck

Maybe you should have a look at my coupe. Im going through this process at the moment. Stanza struts with a CA18DET engine.

I have had students made oil catch cans in the past.

Can be made from steel or aluminium if your school has a tig welder.

Plenty examples on the net

Where are you from?

Which one do you want? The round one between the tail lights or the one off the bootlid.

I have a round one that you could have.

Make one or get someone to fabricate one for you.

One like on Andrews white 1200 coupe is easy and cheap to make or even get made.

Good luck

If you get a diff cut down and your ute is not engineer approved yet the whole diff assembley needs to be approved.

To combat this I used a diff out of a Corolla 30-55 series, They are available in 3.8 , 4.1 , 4.3 ratios so it gives you a chance to experiment with what ratio is best and they only cost about $50.00 - $100.00 and replacement axles $20.00

When my coupe is engineered and on the road I will have a borg warner out of a vp commodore cut down. If you want this done a place called classic restoration in perth can do this. Not cheap though.

The problem is no body ever does this conversion the same. The problems I have encountered are different for others.

For example if I had mounted the motor 10mm closer to the fire wall. I would not have had problems with the steering arms hitting the clutch slave cylinder. And could have mounted the thermo behind the radiator instead of infront of it. And had more room for the intercooler.

There is a company - mad dat I think who will do a exchange cross member. I would probally do this next time.

Have fun

If you decide to build for 25k you would have a nice car. draw up a budget and make it happen.

But if you dont want the trouble consider one which is half done. With the shell and interior prepared and just do the engine conversion.

There are lots of good standard 1200 utes which would be a good starting point.

Good luck

I love my Datsun and for what I have speant I could have paid cash for a very nice R32 GTR.

In my opinion the R32 looks the best and is great value for money. Except at 15 years old and pre thrashed they cost lots to keep on the road.

For the same money my datsun has a better power to weight ratio and is smaller and lighter. Plus the only thing which is old is the shell. Everything else is refurbished.

So the datsun will live on.

The 2 door is quite rare. In WA they rarely come up in the local paper. I have had mine for 5 years and only seen two other examples for sale. (project suitable)

If you do get one. Get one thats complete. Because parts like the chrome trim is bloody hard to find.
