Any chance you can measure one of the Vanettes axles in lenght ( from axle spline to axle face) as I need some H190 axles slightly shorter that the bluebird axles .. Cameron

i Have looked into doing rack and pinnion on a 1200 .. a few problems are finding a rack that is short enough ,, because if its to wide you will get bump steer ,,you need the rack end joint pivots the same distance as the tire rod innerpivots you have on the you car now to over come that problem .. also the steering spindle shaft would most likely hit the starter motor if your using A series engine in a RHD car .. The best Rack i have found so far is one from as a early Ford laser or Mazda 323 .. But they are still to wide but with a few mods i recon it would still fit ..but there is the starter motor problem then ..

Do you know your gear box ratios ?
I have a 6.2:1 [yes 6.2) ratio diff that fits inside a H145 sunny diff housing with the std axles .. Instead of using 2gear you now use 3rd gear ..which works out very close to 2nd gear with the 3.7 .. but still depends on the gearbox ratios you have.. it turns your std box into a closer ratio box by using 2gear as your start off gear and there is a less of a drop in revs to 3rd and also 4th .. but your top speed in 4 isnt very fast ,, but that is not a worry for speedway use .. 1st gear is not used any more as it is to low .. if you got your gearbox ratios ..can work out the ratios for you .. Cheers Cam

Getting water in through inlet .. Or may be a fuel injector leaking badly or ECU malfuction causing the injector to stay open .. I dont think a bent rod would last long before it broke .. from past experience .. any way just a thought .. I have heard from other people that copper head gaskets tend to leak easily .. i had a twincam engine that would only leak water in to the cylinder when it sat for awhile but was ok when running .. there was a crack in the cylinder head from the exhaust seat to the water jacket .. well good lcuk mate ..lucky you found it

Hey Hi . The Green 4agze SuperCharged / Turbo
Datsun 1200 coupe .Had a good result on the weekend at the Pittsworth Sprints . There were 131 cars entered. after 6 runs over 2 days we managed to win 1st outright and 4 th outright and 1st and 2 nd in class .The car was a jet we were the only car to get 140 plus down the back 275meter staight .. but we broke 2 axles taking off on sunday .. Btw its a H165 so it was only a matter of time till it broke, thats why i carried some spare axles.. .. there was also a few other datsun 1200s running and a 1000 coupe .. the Skelta G force also ran and came 3rd out right www.skelta.com.au Cameron
