Yeah it was so funny i had to share it The guy did look really pissed off...

Dodgeman-I put the ute on a chassis straightener ( it turns out my panelbeater has one...) And he fixed up the allignment problem. The left strut is still bent & I cant fix it untill I get a new crossmember.... It was an interesting drive.

Lobster- it was on canberra avenue coming out of Queenbeyan- at the lights crossing hindmarsh drive. Pretty busy intersection

I drove the ute from one end of town to another yesterday (from my suspension place to my autoelectrician)

Oh man it was fun! Im happy to report that the seats are amazingly comfortable and the paint really got allot of peoples attention

On the way down a major road i was going really slow (cause my bearing was making strange noises) and a mustang pulled up behind me and started flashing his lights... when i ignored the guy he pulled up beside me at the next lights and started telling me how stupid it was to have racing stripes on somthing so "weak and puny"

Now for the climax... He started revving his engine and staring at me- I was insulted and decided that for good or for bad my datto had to at least attempt to show this douchbag a thing or two (completly stock 1400 So here i am revving my poor ute with all my pride on the line... And mean while there are cars pulling up behind us, watching in facination as a 5ltr v8 mustang and a 1.4 ltr Datsun get ready to drag...

1.....2......3.... the lights go green and i drop the clutch- my rear tyres give a little chirp and im off- after intense focus on the road ahead & changing gears as quickly as possible i finally look to see where my opponent was- IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR! It seems the jerk stalled at the lights in all his excitment to beat me! Oh man i laughed - so i think iv'e earned my racing stripes.

Everyones suggestions are great. I think you should just think of the things youve always liked/wanted from cars and try to get the balance of that into your ute.

Do one thing at a time and do whatever makes you happy. Ultimatly it's your car- enjoy every aspect, including the build up

Only my opinion... But i really think it would look better with some chrome at the front.... a nice shiny bumper.

I vote for the big wheels- I like the mix of modern and retro

- in that first photo- have you got the hazard lights on for added dramatic effect? Poser! Your photos look really nice! love your work

It turns out the previous owner of my ute cut some corners under the hood, and drilled some holes in my crossmember... I dont know why. Anyway now there are cracks around these holes and im pretty sure thats a bad thing. Does any one have a crossmember for sale? I dont mind paying for shipping.

Cheers, Johno (aka astroboy)

You can bash whatever you want but stay the fu*k away from the datsun buddy...

Dont even go there- what type of imbicile goes on a datsun website and declares that hey dont like datsuns?

Your'e walking on dangerous ground, so just keep walkin... away.
