I have a similar set up like Errols stage one Serious stoppers, twin spot Simotoyo's calipers and Mitsy Verada rotors, from memory mine are 22mm thick, slightly different set up, but the same principle as what Errol is using. Works well on my Sunny rally car with Bendix Metalkings, all this is fitted on a Stanza leg.

I have just fitted a FJ20DET distributor to my a-series and was wondering if anybody knew the part no. of the distributor caps so i can buy a new one. I have two dizzys here out of Fj20's and both have different caps, the one that i'm using is the larger one with a breather hole. Any help would be appreciated

I have done this in the past; get yourself a length of garden hose (or a smaller tube) about 18" long, take your air cleaners off and run your motor, stick one end of the garden hose down the throat of your carby near the butterfly (make sure its clean) and the other up to your ear, you should here sucking noise through the hose, adjust balance till the noise is equal in both carbys through the hose. It's a bit old fashioned but it does work. I'm not that familiar with Dellorto carbys but I know on Webers the spring loaded arm underneath the top cover is part of the fuel pump circuit. Hope this helps

kb110, you are right, you can use a standard flywheel and fit a L18 pressure plate, I didn't explain myself well enough (have edited posting)

Leosnake, congrats on getting the whole car, man thats fantastic, why it is good is because you can the use the 63series flywheel and pressure plate, with out re-drilling a standard flywheel, because the input shaft is bigger on the 63 stuff (same as L series) you can use a standard A-series flywheel but not the pressure plate because the input spline is bigger. On my original flywheel I fitted a 180b pressure plate to the standard (but VERY lightened) flywheel. As for the fork i'm sure if you hunt around the wrecking yards at the L- series stuff you"ll find what your looking for. Took me a while to find the right doner but i got their in the end.

Righto olboy I"ll explain, currently I'm supervising a $13m refit at work, part of this is buying a couple of million dollars of machinary from America, so I got in contact with the American supplier and asked if I got a gearbox to him can he throw it in the next container coming over. OK not a problem he says, so I had a exciting bid on ebay and won, i would not have even bid if i didn't have the "free" trip home for it, it would cost to much to get it sent over. If i knew of more i would get them sent over as well, but i don't! So thats how i come to get a 63 box for $395.00 Aussie. It is only a spare for the rallycar but it's a good spare to have lying around.

it's probably best if i give you the name of the company who ground my cam. they are Sure Cam at Stafford, ph: 3352 4777, they will spend some time talking to you about your application and your motor, i highly recommend them, i'm thinking about getting a different profile cam for my motor, the cam regrind should cost about $120 with a supplied cam, hope this is of some help to you.

Jak, What are you plans for this motor, road/race/rally, I have the cam specs that i use in a similar size motor which is in the rally car, what size chokes are in the webers? I use to have 34mm in my 40's before i went to 45's with 38mm chokes, it does make a difference to your cam selection and intentions for your motor.

leosnake, i think any L-series throw out fork will do the job, I used one out of a Stanza. I just got another 63 box, got it of e-bay from the states for $212 US. I'm very happy about this!
