Andy, you are a chronic 'horder'.

I have a tiny garage! these wheels have gotta go, I'm very negotiable on price, I'll accept payment in the form of a case of beer.

For Sale: Four 12inch Cheviot 'kidney' style mag wheels with 155x80x12 tyres. Came off my 1200, need room in garage. The tyres are just roadworthy. These are the lightest wheels I have ever picked up.

$50

The mags look similar to these ones (but not polished):

Yes, the A14 gearbox may foul near where the firewall meets the floor. You might need to bash a dent (messy) or maybe cut a hole and weld a curve (nicer) in?

You can also shorten the clutch lever (I used an angle grinder) by about an inch, so you don't have to make as much space.

I've got a pair of '82 stanza Castor Rods you can have, I'm in Cronulla Sydney. I've got a pair of standard 1200 ones too if they are any use.

Let me know if you want them.

Rb20, Did you use the 1200 struts tops and springs or did you install the 120y ones?

Perhaps the springs out of the 120Y are longer and/or harder.zDid you compare them to the 1200 springs before installing them?

If you have the original 1200 springs try switching back to them, they might bring your car back down to earth.

I'm doing this swap at the moment. I also had to convert from a single circuit master cylinder to dual circuit.

It's taken me about 3-4 days (I'm slow, and not very handy with tools). I'll list what I had to buy:

Parts:
-Stanza struts and lower control arms, rubber brake lines
-120y Castor rods (late model type)
- 13 inch or bigger wheels and tyres (to fit over brakes)

Tools:
-spring compressors (about $40 repco)
-10mm brake line spanner ($15 repco)
-brake bleeding kit, brake fluid
-normal spanners, jack stands.

Any other questions ask away.

Andy,
Have you got your coupe back on the road?

I had a look around the RTA website, I think this link might be relevant:

There was an interesting article on www.autospeed.com about these devices. I believe they published similar results to what was stated above. And the manufacturers threatened legal action.

Its been a while since high school for me, but I think for these devices to work the way they claim, they'd have to be exempt from Newton's principles.
