Jack, could you have pulled over to the kerb and walked to the petrol station? you could have filled up using a petrol can or something?

While the police who wrote the ticket were harsh, you did chuck a U'ey right in front of them..

Despite all this, if your traffic history is good, I reckon you've got a good chance of the IPB revoking the ticket. Fingers crossed Jack!

As for all the comments about revenue raising, police just enforce the rules, we dont make them. If you think you've been hard done by plead not-guilty and let a magistrate decide. Unfortunately the general law abiding public only get exposed to police at traffic stops, rbt sites, or occasionally as victims of crime. This gives many people the idea that all we do is pull over cars all day/night, its only the tip of the iceberg.. But I don't think this is the right forum to go into that discussion.

James.

I love these over the top Japanese cars, Super wide wheels, very low ride height, nice paint colours.

I don't know about the external oil coolers and oil lines though!?

I found this link:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1364258

Its a car show at Daikoku in Yokohama from January 2004. There are some pretty extreme Old cars, a few nice old Skylines in there.

I'd love to go and see something like this..

There should be two screws on the carburettor, you might need to take the air cleaner off to see them properly, but you should be able to turn them with the air cleaner still in place. Both screws should have a spring holding them in place.

One of the screws is the idle speed, it should be near where the thottle cable connects to the carb. As you turn this screw in the idle speed will rise.

As ddgonzal said, the other screw adjusts the air/fuel mix at idle. When you turn this screw it may also affect the idle speed.

So what you guys reckon ? I wish i got his rego number id dob him in though he probably got enough punishment from me

You reckon you should dob him ?! What for? getting hit by a car you were driving??

If he got your rego, and reported what happened (His version of the incident will be quite different to yours) , don't be surprised if the police come knocking on your door.

They get promoted and become good oficers if they issue tickets/infractions. Think about it, a officer that returns to the station empty hande is not going to be a good officer,

Hey, Im a copper in Sydney, AU. We have no quota system, and there is no pressure on us to write tickets whatsoever. I would have written maybe 3 or 4 tickets in that past 6 months, and they were for grossly negligent acts of driving. I certainy wouldn't get promoted for writing more tickets.. maybe for thorough investigation, lots of arrests, quality briefs, but not for writing more tickets.

Think about the trade/profession that you work in. Is everyone working in your industry good at what they do?

jaimecidpedro, good work. If he can't be bothered/organised enough to turn up to court, he shouldn't have written the ticket.

The last time I saw my old 1000 coupe (I sold it to a mate), it had a wild A15 with twin DCOE webers that was making 75 Kilowatts at the rear wheels. This was at a Sydney Datsun club Dyno day.. and the engine was leaning out above 6000rpm, so it probably had a few more kilowatts left in it when tuned better.

I am sure there would be many big dollar full race A15's that would top this figure.

Excellent post Dodgeman, the points you make are doubly important to 1000 owners, with your kooky traverse front leaves.

I agree that getting the existing suspension in the 1200 (or 1000) working at its optimum makes more sense than starting from scratch.
There are so many variables that may not be apparent until you assemble and test a system under load. Anything is possible however, and I'd love to be proven wrong.
