I just found out, the Watanabes I want have 110mm Offset.
Pretty close to your ones, I reckon they will fit! Do you agree?
James
ps: L18_B110 my mistake, I think I had backspace and offset mixed up when I said 16-21mm

But if you have the standard front end, and are planningon upgrading to Stanza struts, remember that this will change things significantly tyres...
Unfortunately the Watanabe wheels i want are in Adelaide (I'm in Sydney), So trial fitting isn't an option. I spoke to the seller today and asked him to measure the backspace for me. I believe 1200's require around 16-21mm backspace? Its pretty risky buying them interstate, (in case they don't fit) but they are about half the price of a set of Superlites.

Quote: what happened to the superlite idea jempson? I've found a some Watanabe wheels, either 14x6x114.3 or 14x5.5x114.3. If they fit I'd like to get them instead of the superlights. If they don't i'll go with the superlights, James.

What size tyre should I use on a 14x6x114.3 size wheel to maintain the original outer circumference?
THanks!!:)

PS: I once fitted 14 inch Toyota Celica (cant remember what year, it was an old RWD model) wheels to my datto 1000, So i reckon the AE86 wheels should fit my 1200. James

Hey Guys, Can anyone tell me if wheels on an Toyota AE86 (levin) will fit onto a 1200 ?? I have the option of some 14x6x114.3 mags but i'm not sure if they will fit my 1200. (I'm concerned about the backspacing)
I also have the option of getting some 13x5.5x114.3 ae86 mags, but i'd rather go with the 14's.
Any input appreciated, James

Gday, I have owned a 1000 wagon and a 1000 coupe, they were great little cars. I installed an A14 and disk brakes on my coupe, it went really well, I never could sort out the suspension though.
I regret selling them both, but I'm back in a Datsun, a 1200 wagon this time.
James.

jaimecidpedro, They identify the engine by the engine numbers, ie: A12XXXX , A14XXXX, etc. They run a check on the engine number to make sure its not stolen or written off, and this tells them what car it came out of originally and its Capacity.
It is easy to fudge these things (restamp engine numbers). I reckon its just as much effort to do things the right way than to cheat the system. jAMES.

1. Click on the 'Photo Album' link in the top left hand corner of the screen. 2. Click on the 'Add a new one' link. 3. Fill out the fields 'title, description, etc' 4. Hit the 'Submit' link.
Note: the maximum file size is about 100 Kbytes (not very big, I had to resize photo's off my digital camera because they were too big)
