Thanks.

Another question I might as well is, I've heard the rear end on a 1200 can take the torques of a 14. If that's true, do I need to get a different rear end and if so which one? Also, is there much fabricating in going from a AT to a 4 speed? Thanks for your input.

Roger

Broke a rod bearing in our '72,1200 which we have owned for 33 yrs. Rather than rebuild want to swap. What would be the simplest swap but also provide the most power for Southern Ca. freeway driving? Found a '69, 1600 roadster but also looking at an A14. Heard the roadster engines are junk? Suggestions? We have an AT in it that has never given any problems. Keep it?>

Thanks

Do you know where I could get that done on an A14? We live in Garden Grove Ca. Have owned a '72,1200 for 33 years. A few days ago broke a rod bearing in our A12A. Don't want to rebuild but put an A14 in it. Being practically run off the freeway with it because it can't sustain high speeds.

Live in Southern California owning '72 1200 A12A for 33 years. Terrific shape. But recently rod bearing broke and rather than rebuild (not enough power on freeways after 70 mph) we want to replace engine with an A14 or 15. Since front struts are no where to be found, and we need them as well, we were thinking of purchasing a B210. We'd remove the struts if they are still good (they are still made), take the engine and trans (would a 4 speed be better for high end performance) and the differential (heard that the 1200 differential can't handle the torque of a 14 or 15. But we don't know what year of 210 has the larger A14 if we went with it as opposed to the 15. Does anyone know what year of the 210 would be best? Thanks for your assistance. Can't locate anyone out here who knows about such a swap.

We live in Southern Ca. and have owned a '72, 1200 for 32 years. Great car. However, need rubber weather seals for the doors and side especially windows as well as a new front windshield; back window and it seal is fine. Asking for too much in view of the year of the car? If not, where could I possibly obtain them? Thanks

Need front left (from driver side) strut housing and lock nut. Don't ask why; take too long to explain. Other than yards, internet and here, any other place where I might find one. Reside near Garden Grove in Orange County, by Disneyland.

We have owned a 1200 for 29 years.

Just blew up my A12A.

Need a bit more power on these freeways out here. Would it be easier simply to have it bored out to like a 1.5 verseus putting in a L series or a T-3 Toyota.

Would those two, L series or T-3 require too many modifications to motor mount and drive train?

We are in Southern California. Have had this 1200 for 29 years. People drive up to me and want to buy it while we are on the freeways. Great car. Still the shiny GREEN. Had the head redone(third engine). But having difficulty in locating the proper gasket for it. Reportedly Datsun built this engine between 1978-80 either in Canada or US. Been told it is critical to determine which country because gasket configuration might be different. Would the engine ID number tell me? Also, this engine might be compatible with another make or model of engine, say a mini copper? Just need the correct gasket. Thanks for your assistance.
