My thaughts exactly DD.

Sorry, I should have used my words better to describe the shudder type..
Its not a small shudder, its more a like major earthquake at times,
its like a wheels about to come off,and the d\board rattles big time.
The wheels feels like they doing the Macarena.

Hoever they shudder goes away after I gain speed, and remember this happens periodically.

Hi All.

I recently, about 3 mths backs renewed most of my suspension parts, ie t\rod ends, inner and outers, new b\joints, s\bar rubbers.
howver my datto's picken up a terrible shudder in front just recently.
It shudders periodically, only at low speeds.

I do know that my shocks are shot, cause they look old, black in colour and has the nissan stamp on it, my guess is that these shocks are +-30yrs old.

I would like to put on new shocks, not oil filled but gas riders.
However I dont think that this shocks could cause this type shudder.

Could it be the idler arm?, it looks like it has a play.
What and where could the problem be , that I've overlooked?
I would like to try and solve this problem myself, before having to go to any suspension specialists.

Thats some pics , alright DD.
And guys, if yould like to see some major mods than be done to the UTE, have a look at this site
www.autostyle.co.za
click on nissan\fiat.

And to answer 4NIK8, these dattos are quite popular in SA.
The 1200 ute is now called the Nissan 1400 bakkie.
This ute has proven, the test of time and is still mnfd here.
Over the years, they have been bought for commercial purposes and because of the reliabilty, SA has given the name CHAMP to this UTEs.
The top of the range comes with trailduster mags, aircon, bulbars, rollbars, spotlights.
The std ones jsut come with the mags and the sport type steering.
And believe me, SA roads has a lot of new cars, however, the Dattos, now Nissan, still give them a go, when it comes to robot to robot driving.
Alot of the guys down here, also use theses utes for racing, slapping on bigger motors etc.
At present in SA, the fastest vehical on the quarter mile, is a powder blue nissan ute, with a rotary, even reaching a speed of 326km in a 800m stretch.

Allrighty then.

Any guys out there with any ideas and suggestions as to which boot fin{spoiler} that will make a1200 look sportier.
Do you'll have pics of any, cause I dont see many 1200 with these on the photo album.
Meaning, widened mag rims{which stick out, hot rod style} arch flares, front spoiler, bonnet scoops and maybe a touring car type boot fin

I would like to see all your guys pics of sporting the datto looks a bit.

No major facelifts, where one cant identify what type of car it is

My 1200 delux speedometre is reading pass 160kpm
I ####ed it up once while on a long drive on a flat long stretch of highway, where I attained this speed, and is now stuck at that point since.
Obviously, thats not true speed.
However it felt nice seeing it there.
The 1200's stock with 12' rims, no mods, except the 1400 carbi.

But I wouldnt take it to these speeds ever again, whilst being stock.
Damn, this motor was screaming its ass out.

Welcome

Wow, what a coincidence, I've also got a datto 1200 delux and a Skyline gtx.{dr30 shpe, only assembled in SA with the 280zx motor}
The Skylines great, but the 1200 is brilliant, especially when It comes to prices on spares, economy and reliability.

The 1200 is one very pratical car, where one can work on, themselves, without having all the funny, confusing electrics.

Enjoy driving your 1200.

Hey dude.

You and stripping bolts, whats up with the owens in Bloem?, damn, they must all be working out hey.

Firstly, I'm confused, what has the camber got to do with anything associated with booster etc.
Any good suspension pro, will tell you, that to bend the camber has nothing to do with the booster, if he has the correct tools.

Anyway if you ask wheter to put in a booster, I'd suggest "GO FOR IT".
These original set ups are really up to cuck.
If anyone states otherwise, wake up.
These brakes without boosters are not really suitable for everyday traffic, considering the amount of vehicles we have on the roads today, compared to 20+yrs back.
We really need a change in brake set up, especially around taxi drivers we have around here.

I'm sure you'll will agree, booster is better and makes a huge difference in pleasure driving compared to stock.

By the way, I'v gave it some thought and I will be putting in 4way disc brakes and booster, once I find a suitable set-up which is not to expensive.

Anyway you got my no.

Hi guys, my front brake disc are scored, I dont wanna skim them, would like to put on new ones.
I believe that these ones are now longer available brand new for the 1200s,
Howver I do believe that the 1400ute{new mod} ones might fit,
but my question is, does the 1400ute ones bolt right on, without minor conversions etc.?

Thanks

Howzit bro.

Just one thing, use some Anti-seize solution on these bolts, before putting them on again, or better rather loosen them out and use it now, before it gets to stage where you have drill again, maybe some extra work, but as they say, PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.

Oh before putting bolts, I normally have the holes sprayed out with Q20, to get them clean, and its much easier for threading thereafter.

Just my 2cents
