Yo Guys.
Could you tell me which brake booster is the easier mod.
Is it the one from a 120y or a one from a late 96 onwards 1400ute.?
I have noticed that the 1400ute one is quite large compared to the 120y and could possibly touch the Firewall section.
The 120 is smaller but has a sort of a larger backing plate. I do realise that I have to drill new holes etc to make either one fit, but I wouldnt like the clutch cable to move very skew.
Thanks Owens, {meaning dudes}

"it`s a hatchback...5 doors...i haven`t seen other on the web....."
Stupid me, I have seen these datsuns, there also called the stationwagons. Btw these types also came out in the 3 door, ie, 2 doors at front and the hatch at the back. The back, side glasses were removed and replaced metal panels. They were known as PANEL\UTILITY VANS here in South Africa. These were favourite company Vehicals for service orientated business.

Yo. Datto's right, clean and then inspect. Use a few bottles of engine cleaner if you have too{Theyre cheap}. Then Hose down, however make sure the distributor is protected from water splashes. Anothjer thing, do you have a pic of this hatch 120y.

120y Hatch, havnt seen this one. Heavy Comsumption of oil- few things, broken, damaged rings or simply sump gasket leak or even sump nut washer needs replacing. Clutch fluid leak- probably slave kit rubbers underneath, next to g\box or possiblly top clutch master cylinder rubers worn out. Break fluid leaks- Rear plunges at back, and front caliper kits need replacing, or maybe broken brake line. The best way to check all these is to put it up on hydraulic ramp etc and carry out a proper check underneath for all these fluid leaks. Onething about dattos, if you fairly mechanically minded, and have worked with other cars, the datto is not that difficult to work on. One normally needs a service manual when specs, elec diagrams etc are needed, however this site, has almost everything you'll need to know about all mechanical question that you may need . Take time to read through the TECH SECTION.

Hey guys,
Just thaught I'd let you guys that dont know as yet, that the carbis from and old 1300 or 1400 Mazda 323 r\wheel drive, 77-82 model, fit on our 1200 sedan and utes, without any conversions. They are also Hitachi, but only differnce is that the jets are slightly different in size. Just bolt it on.
I've got the mazda pics if you guys are confused as to which shape mazda I'm talking about, but not to clued up as to putting them up on the THREAD section.
Let me as to how to put up these pics

Well I guess now, I know better.
These standard boxes are really weak.
Anyway, do you think I'm better off having to buy, another 1200 g\box, recondition it, or probably just put an a14 ute box.{2nd hand}.
What do you guys think.?

Thanks DD. Another thing, Can this gear be replaced easily, can I do it myself, or do I have to give it to a g\box specialist and if so, will it be expensive?

HI ALL. I had replaced the u-joints on the Datto this weekend. This was a real piece of cake. The cling noise, vibrations, is gone, but again, Pls help, I thought, that changing the u-joints will also help get rid of my noisy reverse, but didnt. When reversing the g\box{I THINK} makes a heavy grinding noise. It also jumps out of reverse gear, when backing up quick. Whats the problem here guys? Is there a major problem with the g\box. Do you think that this might completly breakdown and then no reverse. Oh, the reverse had gotten noisy when once I did a burn out{spinned tyres} in reverse. Any ideas as to what the problem is? Please help, this is getting me pissed of.

Whoh, Seeing that theres so much to do and so little time, to pep up a bit of power to the Datto, without taking of the head, conversions etc, I think that I rather put up with sluggishness, and rather then put on a complete 2nd hand motor and g\box from a newer model a14 ute. I'm sure this would be an easier option and cheaper as well. Thanks alot guys, I'm glad that I didnt purchase these carbis and mainfold, without consulting with you all. Cause at first I thaught that it'll be a perfect, hassle free solution, well I was wrong.. PEACE OUT
