Guys,
Any suggestions as to what which steerings from donor cars might fit my 1200 Delux.
I dont wanna go for the sports after-market types{too Small].
I tried steerings from other cars, such as the Fiat Uno, Nissan Skyline, and Toyota Corolla, but the spline sections are always to big.

I would also recomend at least a little fuel {20-30ml} to be put into the top of the Carbi {toward the left side} manually, whilst cranking for faster starting up .

As for purging,what-ever{my first time heard of it as well}.

Could be exhaust flange leaking, needs sometimes to be retightened and oh if this doesnt help, I know that sometimes these flange sections doesnt take gaskets, so might also have to put some silicone base aroud it.
Another thing, strange, but I had this problem, check the alternator if its tight enough.

'Flange' is what we call here in SA the section where the manifold joins to the exhaust.
Just checking if it the terms also used by your guys as well.

Well, the l28e pulley doesnt have a copper coat etc.
I havnt had specs as to what torque settings needed, to be tightend.
However I'm sure, it was tight enough, cause the last time, I had the half the bolt broken off into the crank.
Any idea as to what torque settings to use.

Thanks dude

Hi guys.

I own a 1200 delux and a skyline,
My problem is with the SKyline this time.

Well, mines is the the Skyline GTX, only assembled with the L28 motor, exactly like the Z cars, here in South Africa.
None of the guys on the Skyline sites can assist due to this.

Well you see, I have had the crank pulley come of twice thus far.
This time time it has come off, and half the bolt broke into the crank. This is no problem though.

My problem is that how can I stop the pulley coming off this often.
I beleive this is a common problem with the L28e motors.

I have previously, put on lot of Loctight on, purchased key ways from Nissan, however, same problem.
Do I probably have to have the pulley balanced before putting it on this time?
Any suggestions welcome.

Help Datnissan Guys

Guys, any recomendations as to raising the rear leaves more than usual, which is in-expensive, and fairly quick.

I know that now days, guys like lowering their suspension to make their cars look nicer, howver I feel that an old car like my 1200 looks best with a rear endraised, plus Ive justed put in 15' Blade mags with 40 profile tyres.

Oh yes, another thing, is that how easy is it to change wheel studs in front and rear whithout taking of the wheel bearings etc?

If I had to change my g\box,
Which would be better
A14 or standard a12 ?

If a14 g\box, does one have to do mods and do have to change prop shafts?

What will be the perfomance differences?

My car is a 74model 1200 Datsun.
