Hey guys.
Need some advice again on My Datsun 1200 delux

Firstly I do know that my universal joints at my prop shaft is on its way out, However I dont understand why I've got a weird noise and feeling when reversing.
Sound like a gearbox problem or is it?
When moving forward, theres no noises except for the cling noise from the prop shaft when changing gears.

Any suggestions and remedies as to how to sort out this problem welcome.

Thanks for the advices Guys.
Finally found the fault after doing a compression test.
And guess what? NO COMPRESSION>
It was a blown head gasket.

Changed it, and now shes back on the road again.

Now, however, I have to fine tune the carbi

Oh yeah, in regards to the 12v idle solenoid switch, no problems there as well.
She also doesnt wanna rev.
Besides I've changed carbs a few times now to get to this annoying problem

There's definately fuel coming through. into the carbs as well.
Disconected fuel line before inlet to carbs and she kicks out well.
No problem with fuel there

Thanks for the reply dude.
You see, I just had the engine overhauled recently.
I havnt had it retorqued as yet, but I've already covered a +-2000kms.

I've checked spark severeal times, seems fine.
Fuel supply seems OK as well.
This car is now pissing me off.

I've had two machs come over and have a look as well.
They also seemed baffeled.
They all say spark and fuel is fine.

What else can it be

Hi guys.
Pls help.
My datsun 1200 [73] s giving me hell.
For a few days now, I can get her to start up.
I've checked timing, points, condensor, coil, changed the carb, still no luck.

What I've noticed is water moister on the plugs.

What else can I try to start this car up.
Oh, When I've tried putting in petrol into the carb manually, she starts for a while then cuts off again.

One thing for sure, I dont think its a carb problem, neither the pump.

Could it anything to do with compression or anything to do with mechanical within the engine itself.

Help, anyone, everyone.

Any suggestion welcome

Hey guys, I'm from South Africa.
Can anyone help as to what carbs I can substitute for a 1200 datsun, without much conversion.
I even would'nt mind a bit power.
My carb's giving me hell.
Please help, the 1200's really sluggish.
