Hi all,
Hope u guys and those beauties of yours all well.
Anyway Im back on this great site again, due to me havin bought once again a Datsun, nissan product.
Like they say, ONE NEVER APPRECIATE"S WHAT ONE HAS UNTIL ITS GONE",
Its now however not like my old faithful 1200 delux, but now a 1400 van.'
Needed something practical economical, unlike the nissan sani i have, couldnt think of anything better and cheap, than the 1400 bakkie, as we call it here in South Africa, Its a 2003 Model, Check it out guys,

What a sad day,

I just sold my old faithful, after many years of good mototring.

I teared as I saw her drive off with her new owners today.

At least, she has been taken to a good home, another Datsun 1200 fanatic.

You guys would know how it feels to lose a loved one ( a datsun ),

I would never had sold her if I had more parking space, and more money of course.

However, I will always be proud to say that I owned one of those.

Thank all of you for all the advice you've given me over the years.
And hope you all dont face the predicament I was in.

I will now and again pop in to give my 2 cents worth.

Long live the Datsun 1200

I've played with a14 and a12 carbis.

What I recommend, (and this was mentioned in one of the older threads as well) is to use the a12 carbi jets onto the a14 carbi.

You will notice a significant positive power difference, guaranteed
.

And as for the standard a14 carbi, burning rich, I fully agree.

I've got hold of a Opel Corsa, known to the Aussies as a Holden/Vauxhall 2004 model, front bumper,
I've cut the bumper half, horizontally, busy putting it on, looking great thus far, will post pics soon

1200 Datsuns stopped production in the late 70's.
However,if you refering to the Nissan 1400 UTEs, they are still in production, and dont think its gonna go out anytime soon.
The "Nissan 1400 Bakkie" as known in SA, was given the name CHAMP, due to its durablity and reliability over the years.
These UTE's are still being sold in large quantities to the commercial industries, despite it having alot of rivals in the half tonner market sector.

The best race track records in SA have been set by converted Nissan 1400 UTEs, due to it being cheap in price, and easy for conversions.

As for 1200 utes and sedans, I see them more often in SA, than ever before.
They have made a grand comeback, and looking better than ever before.

In my opinion, South Africa's no 1 in Dattos.

Long live the Datsuns, and Nissans.

Hi, Im from South Africa, and living in Johannesburg.
Should you wish to buy new and second hand parts for your car, call me on 082 434 7426 whilst here.

I'm quite clued up with places around here in Johannesburg and Durban itself, and GXMAN will tell you.


As for a place called Marmics, Too expensive, and their prices at times are just as good as buying brand new.

There are places what GXMAN has mentioned, like SSS BAKKIES, MR 1400, and HALF TONNER SPARES.

Let us know, when youre down, as DATSUNS here are quite popular with circut and drag racings and you might be able to go to one of these events here around Johannesburg if youre here the right time.

Hi guys.
Yep its now time for a bit more power {especially take off power}..


I would like to know, which will be the most cost and time effective conversion to do.
I've thought of a few alternativess, ie
a15
a14 or A12 with a14 head
an L series motor.

Please help.
