i would use the A14 head as it has bigger ports, but the A12GX head also has some nice bits about it too - like higher CR.
i would use injection to make it reliable in the upper RPM, you'll need to lighten the whole rotating assembly (like knife edging the crank and light flywheel), use quality HE pistons, bigger wrist pins, a n-n-nasty cam, double valve springs etc etc.
you may even want to invest in roller rockers, but they're pretty expensive.
or, for the same outlay you could have a near stock engine and a small turbo hanging off the side and close on 180 - 200hp with injection and intercooling.
N2 is inert and would tend to quench the combustion process rather than enhance it.
very true, N2 (nitrogen in its natural state) is inert.. did you know the nitrous oxide, (yes laughing gas, from the fast and furious) is N2O?? now don't you tell me THAT is inert... its TWO parts nitrogen and only ONE part oxgen. Hydrogen is a lot more combustable than oxgen.
Now if you really want a punch, then instead of using N20, you use O2, straight oxgen. The only problem is that it makes your engine run a bit too hot......
spot on dazza
you could also use the ammonia you get from the shops in bottles, which is NH3 + H20 which equals NH4+OH (ammonia hydroxide or liquid ammonia). add on part oxygen to now 5 parts hydrogen with nitrogen to carry and stabilise it and you have i think what ANDRA might refer to as a "power adder".
was reading a discussion on another forum about ammonia storing hydrogen in a safe and compact environment (ammonia is NH3 - one part nitrogen, 3 parts hydrogen).
i wonder how ammonia injection would go instead of water...?
one part nitrogen and 3 parts hydrogen
versus
one part oxygen and 2 parts hydrogen...?
you might even be able to make a fuel out of it...? now, what did i do with that little A12 i left lying around here somewhere...?
if track is measured wheel centreline to wheel centreline...then surely using TRX rims with a more FWD offset would bring your track back IN to compensate for the 15mm on either side going OUT.
by my calcs your track ends up being increased just over 12mm...?
Mini 1200 n 1300 make about 155-180bhp when turbo charged using the turbo metro su carb....so i dont see why a well put together A12 turbo cannt make atleast 150hp, unless the nissan aseries themselves r worthless
to put it nicely - you're fukcing blind.
i said 150 KILOWATTS - not brake horsepower
150 KILOWATTS is more like 200ish horsepower - or a shade under 210 brake horsepower (if my calcs are correct - i think i got them the wrong way round there).
