Yeah thanks to your write-ups I was able to decide which was more proper for my 81 wagon; this one or the blue S one without the chrome/red strip. The goodies are starting to stack up. Definitely a few more things I'm waiting to get; looking to create a custom clutch combo using an ORC 309D clutch kit for the a series and swapping in the ORC 309D disk for an L series. They're both 200mm just the splines should be different so I can use the 63a transmission. Not a cheap option but probably the only way to hold up to 300hp with an A series. If I go this route I'll sell off the new Kameari flywheel and Nismo clutch I already have. I am going to want a decent front spoiler and all I can find that I like is the Hakosuka one...not a fan of the style dam Bprojects sells...too chunky for my taste. I also will eventually be on the lookout for proper fender mirrors if I can get the whole setup with the controls for electric control.

Been busy with work, was able to finally find and get ahold of a square eye Sunny wagon/red grille, so now I will be perfectly happy with staying with the square eye front end. A little pricey but it's saved me from buying the entire front end for a round eye to do the swap so it is money saved overall! In fact I've never seen one of these exact ones for sale before so I'm very excited for it. I also bought another gauge cluster that seems to be in much better shape than the one I had...so I will have an extra just in case a gauge is out or something when I install it eventually. Here's a pic of the grille.

Very sexy. I'd love to see a better EFI setup for A series similar to but better than the factory EFI and ported out or able to be ported out to GX or larger port sizes.

Of course now that I've fixed and refinished the gauge cluster, another one popped up so I was able to get another gauge cluster that had the warning light bar on the bottom. Will probably sell the one I just refinished for what I paid for it.

My wife really wants to buy a 720 pickup for sale locally the guy is having all kinds of problems with the accelerator cable so I don't know if we'll ever end up buying it or not. She just wants a truck with an auto so I am looking more at like a Toyota 4wd truck instead.

I also was able to score a center console but it hasn't arrived yet. I'm mostly scared it won't make the journey intact. It's black so I may have to paint it to match the brown interior.

I know this doesn't help much, I was able to get a FSM for my 81 b310 on eBay for like $13 in excellent condition!

Thanks for the heads up I'll be sure to build a couple support brackets for it. I got a line on an h190 rear end hopefully it won't cost too much to get it here from San Antonio! That will complete all the large items I'll need, woohoo!

Thanks D, I've already scored an H190 3.7 ratio LSD pumpkin for a decent price ($800 shipped), just need the actual rear end assembly now. What brand or what do you get your H190 LSDs out of? I'll admit I'm pretty low information as far as H190s go, I was planning to just do a custom Ford 8.8 (~$1200-1500) until this LSD popped up.

Yeah I have to admit, I'm not the biggest fan of the 'Desert yellow' color...would rather see a deeper yellow if yellow at all. From the small amount of B310 wagon pics out there I think the wagons look best in white, silver, and possibly black. I'll have to give it some serious thought whether I keep it the same color or not. I'm striving for the engine to look just like the stock SGX-E setup; blue block with gold valve cover and of course polished bits here and there. Over the years I've been moving more towards the stocker/OEM look of cars as far as paints/colors and such. I sent some pics and got a quote from Jet Hot to get the turbo manifold coated in gold and almost passed out; they quoted $500 shipped for their service! I got my SR20 tubular manifolds coated by them for only half of that.

I never thought about using a different type of car A/C compressor outside of Nissan. I'll have to poke around a bit. Honestly I'd be happy sticking with the square hp robbing stock York compressor if I could find a new one for when this one goes, but best I can find is one meant for a Subaru that 'might' work.

I love the SR20DET in mine, but it is a very tight fit and more power than you'll know what to do with. I prefer lightly built turbo over fully built NA 100% of the time. Not that the KA24 is a bad engine, SR20s can be very temperamental, but if you just do light mods and treat them right they're solid for 300 rwhp and 30-35 mpgs in a B110. The SR is pretty lightweight too. I'm not sure how they stack up against each other weight-wise, but aluminum block, ditch the A/C, PS, and every other not needed accessory and it'll probably weigh the same or less as an NA KA24 (since you have to add an intercooler, turbo piping, BOV, etc). The great thing about an SR20 is if you get tired of 200 rwhp (stock redtop), you can just turn up the boost and retune to ~240 rwhp, and when you get sick of that you can swap turbos and injectors and retune to 350-400 rwhp pretty easy/reliably. The NA fully built KA24 is pretty stuck where it's at power-wise unless you turbo or nitrous it.

Junkyard score today! Got a pair of S130 280zx front struts and a/c compressor. The compressor is humongous compared to both the York USDM b310 compressor and the JDM b310 compressor. I think I could probably customize and make it work though if I really want but for now will stick with the USDM setup.

I'm very excited to have found the struts though. I hate that Nissan had the front track wider than the rear with the stock b310 struts. The last big thing I need is a 82-83 200sx rear end!

I bought a sandblasting cabinet and stripped the gold A14E valve cover down to bare metal, then resprayed it with high heat gold and clear along with the alternator bracket. Turned out pretty good.
