Hey ddgonzal,

Are there any good places on your side of the border to get performance parts/goodies for the A-block engines? So far my sources up here just offer some stock replacement items like bearings and re/re kits. Nothing at all beyond stock though.

Oh man, now I am really interested in seeing a photo of this set-up as well. What kind of HP are you getting outa the blower A14? In hind site would you have gone with anything different? A15? other? This sounds awesome, well once you sort out the chugging thing, which you will.

Thanks guys, I get the sense that ddgonzal knows a ton of info bout these datsuns. Have any of you guys had a look at the "Datsun 1200 Development Program's - Datsun Competition Department Performance Suspension Modifications for the SCCA C Sedan"? What did you think of it? Would that be a good way to go or too extreme? Are there better options out there for getting sweet handling from a coupe? I stopped in at the Van Isle Dat Club and yakked with some guys on saturday. They say the 280 suspension (front) would be the way to go, but one guy was building a 510 with 240 struts modified with fully adjustable coil over kits. I know its not a 1200 but it did open my mind up some. What do ya think?

Oh Datsundonnie, I live on Vancouver Island just outside of Qualicum Beach.

Sorry I cant help ya on this at all, but I am curious about the engine and setup you have. What kind of blower did you use and is it pretty much streetable for regular driving? What did you do to the engine to prep for the blower? Was it expensive to do? I am looking at options to get my little coupe moving better but do want to drive it too.

Thanks

I tried to access some links to lean a bit of newby stuff and it keeps telling me I do not have permission????

The links on this page all do it;

Any reason why?

Something tells me that getting 10% of asking price isn't very good?!? I bet you had trouble with math in school.

Hey all,

I found a wrecker down island that said he had some old 1200 cars in his datsun section so I went down yesterday and after a few hours drive finally found the place.

I went in and asked him where they were and he pointed "down round the bend and to the right" well I was all excited and off I went. I went through every datsun he had and found NOT ONE of the Datsun 1200's. Zero, notta, none! He had a single B210 1975 model and a 240Z plus a bunch of 1980 and up various dats. Man what a disappointment. Not even an old rusty stipped pos hulk.

So are ya better to go with the A14 or A15? I can pick up either one complete from a wrecker down Island for the same price ($200). Is one better to get decent horsepower and drivability?
