Well thanks for all the replies

I can tell you that it is not for the auto choke, I still have a manual one.

It's not for an electric fan, don't have one of those either

The motor is as it came out of the factory so it must be an emissions/temp sensor like has been suggested.

The car was running at about half the temp it normally sits on so one could think only one wire is broken so maybe it reads low but on the way to work today it was back up to normal temp so it may have just been the cool night air that was affecting it but I have never noticed before.

I always tend to watch the gauges very closely after I have had work done on the car!!

I am trying to get confirmation on what this part is (apart from broken!)? I think it is the temperature sensor for the temp gauge but not 100% sure. My gauge is still working but the car appears to be running cooler

I have a feeling it was damaged when I had the extractors put on.

Are new ones readily available?

Does all the anti-pollution cr@p still hook up to the bigger carb?

Well I have done it, the ute now has a set of extractors and a 2" system. It has made a good difference but it now has a flat spot which I will try and remove with a bit of a tune. Still running the standard carb but I am happy with what it has done.

Brisbane - Wanted, place to press wheel bearings?

Hi all,

I need to do the rear wheel bearings on the ute and I was wondering if anyone can suggest a place that will press the new ones on? (I am under the opinion that they have to be pressed on.)

I have the new kits and I will take the axels out but I don't have the tools to press the new ones on.

Any help appreciated as usual.

I bought a set of Nankengs for my ute, I got them for $85 each f&b but that is in 185/60/13.

I think they are a great tyre for the money. I am pretty fussy with tyres and they would have been off the ute quick smart if I didn't like them.

They were even impressive on a skid pan.

I bought one of the cheap ones from supercheap and it lasted for a while and then split right down the middle!! I then spent a little bit more on a heavier blue one (still from supercheap) and it is doing really well so far. I wouldn't say it is really waterproof but it keeps a lot of the water off. I can't remember the brand at the moment sorry. I'll check and get back to you.

Spend as much as you can afford because you only get what you pay for with car covers.

I am like you and the ute won't fit in the garage but it is small enough to fit on the verandah but it still gets a cover put over it.

I did the nav run last year in the ute. It is always "challenging" to say the least.

I have probably done the last ten and they are always fun. I haven't done the full weekend yet.

Thanks for all the replies, it doesn't take much to convince me

I've had a look at the ones that Feral has and Genie have some listed in their catalogue so I will do the ring around and see what it's going to cost.

I'll also keep an eye out for any coming up 2nd hand.

Thanks
