Got mine done for nothing
did work experience at a fitter/turner place, year later i rang him up, and asked him to fix my tailshaft. took him under an hour, chucked it in the lathe, took out the weld, popped the end off, shortened it, got it nice and square while it was in the lathe, then took it out and welded it up.
Now i just have to get it balanced. That'll probably cost me though.

Thought this might start some interesting discussion... first, (or most interesting) burnouts!!!

mine was on private property (of course... ) in a galant i used to have. It was a paddok basher, no glass, and the teeth on the startermotor/flywheel were gone, so you had to push start it every time it stalled. On the bricks, behind the shed, bit of oil, and off we go. nice little bit of wind, carried the smoke over the fence, and directly to my mates place (who lives a few hundred metres away).
His mum was wondering why her windows looked dirty, and a couple kids on bmx's were riding up and down the next street wondering where the fire was!!!
every time i've done one out the back since, without fail, mum comes running to the back door and yells "the cars on fire, the cars on fire..."
some people, it at least smells different!!!

bigger surface area= less force on the road, so no traction

heard of the term "aqua-plane" ???
the tyre stops gripping on the road because of the water, and starts floating on that instead... The exact reason why F1 cars (or any other race car) don't use slicks in the wet.

the exact way my uncle wrote off his brand new HSV Clubsport. wasn't doing anything wrong, hit a puddle, aqua-planed, spun out, and ended up backing into a power pole at 70 odd km/hr. the tow truck driver thought the car was a hyundai, it was that bad.
