(assuming this is the other side of the foot-well) thats probably because of the wider tyres. just use a hammer, like everyone else, and give yourself and passenger a little bit less foot room for the noise. or possibly space the steering out so that the wheels don't turn as far. cuts down the turning circle, but hey, the turning circles that tight anyway... (I haven't looked into this, a mate suggested it to me)
I have 195/60/r14's on my ute, front and rear. the "flare" on each fender has been trimmed (so minor you wouldn't notice) at the front to let them fit. other than that, they rub with the wheels nearly at full lock. (thats the only time, but i generally don't reverse fast)
The only problem i have is the front wheels hitting the top of the fender... getting flares soon (this arvo, fingers crossed)
